I'm not sure how it will work. The Rangers will obviously want them playing in games so if the AHL season starts soon, they'd be there.

AHL season is supposed to start early Feb, we'll see what happens.

I'm going to imagine your taxi squad crew is going to feature the names no one was excited about this off-season, rather than prospects.

I think you're more likely to see Rooney, Blackwell, Di Giuseppe, Bitetto, maybe Hajek more than guys like Barron, Kravtsov, etc.

Unless a player is absolutely pounding on the door, or the Rangers feel they are prepared to stay in the bubble permanently, I don't think you're going to see quite as much of the young talent this next season. I think there's going to be a preference to leave players where they are whenever possible --- be it the AHL or Europe.
The will only taxi the close in prospects. Reunanen will be an interesting case. The border line guys will either head back to Europe or wait for Hartford. Richards is one guy I’m interested in watching.

Wow, talk about a supercharged playoff environment.

8 teams in each division means each team will play each other 8 times during the regular season and then destroy each other to see who’s the first to 8 wins to get to the Cup semifinal.

And then face off against a team they may have not have played for over 15 months for a shot at the Cup?

Drop the puck boys, I’m in.

I am not sure of the 2nd half of this tweet. Does this mean there will be 2 Wild Card teams?
No wildcard

Top 4 teams from each division, straight up.

Division champs will face off in conference finals, and then conference winners faceoff for the Cup.

This is the way.

Probably better that way. Keith Kinkaid is a good presence too, hope they keep him around. Solid teammate.

The taxi squad idea is a good idea and the Rangers will want a 3rd goalie so yeah Kinkaid's probably that guy. I think most team's more or less already know the guys they're going to bring and the movement of players between the AHL and NHL is going to be minimal at best. As the season moves along and the vaccine takes hold and if the numbers of infected decline to manageable levels we'll probably see a lot more movement.

I expect Kravtsov to remain with Chelyabinsk.

I imagine of the European loans, Hajek, Reunanen, and Huska will probably head over. Kravtsov and Rykov will probably stay. Maybe Kravtsov comes later.

Reunanen is on his way, Hajek (like Chytil and Georgiev) has to wait for a new work visa first.

read a 3rd goalie is mandatory so it will be Kinkaid the vet. Wall and Huska get AHL time

plus doesn’t nhl start before the ahl? So some guys will start nhl and then go down . Although then there’s likely a quarantine period

With the Giants being in disarray I'm excited about this!

Giants win either tomorrow or against Baltimore and do what they're supposed to do against the Cowboys they should get in the playoffs (I'll post more about this in the NFL thread).

The Giants potential playoff game will serve as the "opening band" for the NHL Season.

Not going to be easy for the Rangers to make the playoffs even if we end up better than we were last year unless old age and injuries catch up to the Bruins, the Caps and Pens continue their slow fade to a rebuild and/or maybe the Flyers or Islanders aren't as good as they were last year.

We'll see. First things first...at least we have a season to look forward to...can't wait!

Either 196 games, or 0
I can understand no MLB in Toronto but man no hockey in Canada? I support precautions but I thought they would somehow find a way for hockey. If there was a zombie apocalypse the zombies would still be playing hockey up there.

Yes they will. Only area that is dragging their feet is BC, worst case the Canucks will play their games somewhere else in Canada. I assume it's all sorted out by tomorrow the latest.
