Demidov concerns me because he hasn't yet played a season in the KHL. It is hard to evaluate him. Silayev played an entire KHL season as did Michkov.

Actually that's me, so please don't follow me anymore. I'm already embarrassed as is.

Lindstrom is bringing a medical report to give to every team that he interviews with, so the injury can't be that bad, or he falsified it incredibly well.

The take on Sennecke was already out before anyone here started talking about him being a top 10 pick and potentially a pickby the Habs.

McCagg on the sick podcast mentioned it and then we started seeing him higher and higher since.

f***ing sucks, but props to McCagg
Pretty sure is name was already trending way up before McCagg mentioned it…

The ones with Briere? Or Kane? Or Kucherov? Or Point? Which ones?

I agree with him and would not be upset if we drafted him but I think we'd have to spread him and the Lane train out a bit

The ones happening this year. Neither team in the finals has a top 6 forward under 6 feet. Not one. This is big boy hockey.

Their franchise players are all big, this rarely changes when you get to the finals. Think they got it figured out in Montreal yet?

I wouldn't mind taking a shot at him if we can secure another high pick and put our hands on a prospect who's less of a long shot to hit his potential.

It really is that simple to me; We have to get out of this draft with a guy who is easy to project on this team going forward. Not a project. People will say no prospect comes without risk. But there are guys who are more polished than others, and that's what you should try to get at 5.

That being said, at, say, #10, after securing a safer guy, well by all means go for it.

Yup, we are on the same page with this and I'm sure Hughes is as well. I do think Hughes will try to get another pick. Difficult to know if he can or not.

Anyways, back to the combine.

I feel Demidov's skating will translate well to NHL regular season games. The skating is that good and he's hard to catch. What I am pondering is does he like the traffic and physical contact. Difficult to know today and we all know time/space and more physicality happens in the playoffs.

What I will say is if Demidov turns into a 80+ pts guy, he won't be like Kucherov in terms of a smaller type Russian. I am thinking more like P Kane. Demidov just does not show the one timer skill Kucherov has. Can he develop it? Possible yes

Is the Lindstrom camp saying anything publicly about the injury?
You’d think if it was nothing they be happily sharing the information … like Lane Hutson with his “bone age” report …. Or Wayne and Garth with their backstage passes.

They need a 2C.
(Healthy) Lindstrom or Catton.

If I’m Hugo, I hedge my bets with Dach.
1C or 2C...whatever it is, we're just not deep there, not in Montreal, Laval or amongst our Euro/NCAA/CHLprospects.

Hughes and the habs wants the player who’s gonna be the best long term. Not the more ‘’polished’’ now.

Sure, yes. I agree. What does this have to do with what conversation you jumped in on? In case you didn't follow the chain it was this...

Some fans are considering Sennecke at 5th and some of us say no. We would prefer to add another pick from 10-13 to take Sennecke. 5th will be used on players like Dickinson, Demidov, Iggy, Lindstrom.

Yes, and you said Hughes agrees with you.

I believe he does. I'll be shocked if we take Sennecke 5th. And I like the players chances at top 6F. I see a Batherson type but with the 5th pick, we should have higher standards. Would it be impossible for Sennecke to be a top line talent? No, it's possible but it would be a reach and you better know what you are doing.

Habs digging into Sennecke more is just doing due diligence in case we trade down or add another pick from 10-13. That's how I comprehend it.

Dude actually broke a record this season. Just trying to make a point about Sennecke by bringing him up is disingenuous.

So if Sennecke went back to major midget and broke records there, you'd have no issues?

Fact is Demidov plays a very similar hands heavy game and he has played at a junior level in MHL two years in a row.

Your problem is just points.

And i told you it’s known that Hughes and their scouts doesn’t care about the kid who’s more polished or ‘’safe’’. They most likely don’t agree if they like Sennecke’s talent.

No, my problem is mainly how awkward an unnatural this guy looks.

And judging most scouting departments around that have him going mid-first round, I'd say I'm not exactly the only one having reserves.

I think that is a reach with the pick in this draft. Beck and Kapanen are nice to have in the pool but if we want to add players better, we need to consider that might be a 2025 pick.

Oh I fully expect us to pick Sennecke 5th. That's the kind of dumb thing this organization has been doing time and time again. No matter the management in place.
