Just had my 4th line center, who has no special teams ice time, score 21 goals and 5 assists in one season. What the hell..... 2nd most goals on my team

Because of this, Ryan Reaves had a career year with 21 assists.

Wondering how much TOI your 4th liner is getting? If he's getting the same TOI as your 1st liner, it's acceptable. But he should be getting like 9 min of Ice time per game. and your 1st liner should be around 25 min..

no way a 4th liner getting 9 min of ice time is getting similar #'s as a 1st liner playing 25 min.

Maybe your 4th liners are getting same amount of playing time as your 1st line.

I don't know, I'm simulating the games and it doesn't show ice time stats. But I think the simulation gives 4th lines less ice time than the other lines

Anyone else have a glitch in Be A Pro? I simmed (simming penalty off) and went undrafted even though I put up over a ppg in the regular season and playoffs. The real fun started when it said I would be going back to the CHL but another notification came up saying I would be spending the season with the San Diego Gulls but no games popped up for me to play. I go to look at season stats and it just goes to a blank screen with the same repetitive music playing. I press back and nothing happened. Looks like I'll be starting again

Seems that potential drops for absolutely no reason. Had a LW prospect with medium bottom six potential, he had a good season in the AHL, grew 3 ratings and is now AHL top 6 potential......

The AI is remarkably tougher this year. On All Star difficulty in past years, I would routinely win 4-1, 5-2, etc.

This year I have a huge problem getting out of my own zone. The AI is much tighter in the neutral zone. Can't just skate through to the offensive zone anymore.

I do have a beef with how fortunate the AI seems to be and how unlucky I get sometimes. It seems that 90% of loose pucks go to the other team, and that defensemen have super human strength. Ice tilt seems to be a big issue still. If I go up a goal or two, it feels like I'm going up against a line of Messier-Gretzky-Kurri and a defensive unit of Coffey and Housley. I'd hate to see what superstar difficulty is like :help:

Editing players makes their contract last one year and changes their draft status to 1st overall. Great job once again EA..

Just on PS4 and Xbone, right? I won't have that problem with Legacy if I buy it?

Is this true across the board?? I haven't noticed this but haven't played that far into my GM mode. That is a massive bug!! I don't care about the draft position one, that's pretty cosmetic to me (but should still be fixed).

I was going to do some massive universal editing to speed and puck handling, and actually extend contracts of several key players to make sure they stayed with certain teams longer. I'll have to play test further to see if this happens in my version. Would be really disappointing.

Since day one when i got the game all i did was edit every player contract length to 8 years, started a BEAGM mode simed to 8 years didn't have this problem.

I'm not great at these games. But i swear, in NHL 13, i could win at any level, even with the worse team. I am that good. I own it. But in NHL 16, In rookie, i win 10-0 every game. But when i went to Pro.. i struggled like crazy. i think i am 1-9 so far. I'm hating it. I need to practice and get good, or i'm selling the game. It is much tougher this year.

The patch apparently fixed somethings, but broke HUT. People are *****ing about players disappearing for no reason.

Bang up job, EA.

Edit: Apparently EA didn't even bother with an X1 update.

In Be A Pro, how do you complete the "Protect Puck" task? I protect it all the way around the net, nothing happens. I attempt ot protect it around a D-man, nothing happens...

This **** is way too ****ing unclear.

Okay, this will sound like the biggest crybaby question or statement ever, but how in god's green earth do you F&*)(#$%^&*(#$^*%^@%) defend?

Like seriously, on anything but the lowest difficulty level I cannot stop them. If they have the puck they will get the zone every time. If I am parallel to them, they will lose me behind the net. If I try and go ahead of them, they cut back and do three consecutive passes. If I'm behind them even one step, well forget it.

Literally the only thing I can do is control a player and take him nowhere near the puck carrier and let them shoot and pass in my zone all day and night and hope I break it up or get the rebound.

Suffice it to say, coming the other way, any contact and I lose the puck, no matter if I'm protecting it, if I'm stick handling it away, if I'm facing them, if they hit me from the puck, or the back, or the side.

What basic fundamental issue -- and it ****HAS**** to be a fundamental issue because I refuse to believe they would design a game like this without something completely obvious that a ^&*)(%$^#(#%^)( idiot *^&(#$({) #$ assducking idiot like me can't get -- am I missing?

EDIT: Yes, the tilt is real :P but I stand by the basic substance. Any tutorials on one-on-one defending would be super useful. I'm getting clowned by teams with 10 less points across the board.

I have zero problems defending against them even on the hardest difficulty. I can usually keep them them to 1 or 2 goals. However on anything past pro i cant score haha. I get shut out a lot on super star and hope to force the shoot out.

Best advice i can give is make sure the player you are going after the puck carrier with is the player that should be playing that man. if not the AI is still going to stick to their assignment since you are the one messing up. This leaves open men and passing lanes. If you are struggling with defense i would suggest always making sure you are the center in your own zone and protect the slot. force them to play on half the ice and your AI will eventually poke a pass or take the puck away themselves. This game is great for not letting them pass through you anymore so just cut the ice in half. If you take the center away and make sure you took their passing lanes they only have 2 guys to cycle with and they will make a mistake before they can get a shot. Stop chasing them. Hits sadly suck in this game so trying to stand up at the blue line should really never be done. Sometimes you have to let them take the zone to avoid giving up an odd man rush.

I started as a 16 year old. Lead my team in points both seasons and went undrafted and now have to play another season in the CHL starting as a 68 overall.

BAP seems to have some major bugs.

Playing on BAP mode...

I keep seeing these coach's orders above my player, so I'm guessing those are things he wants me to do to complete the task? I do "Faceoff Tie Up" all the time, but I still see that same order every single faceoff. Does it ever change? Same with "Stick Lift" when I'm on D.

And I see "Stride Deke" whenever I have the puck, but have no clue how to do that.

Not a bug. It's just that you can't sim the games if you want to be drafted.

I started as a 51 overall and through 2 seasons I'm up to 68 while playing the third period of every game and getting on average a 'B'. I've racked up the experience points, I honestly don't think simming the first two periods should have THAT much impact when I consistently get lots of XP every game.

Has anyone else started as a 15/16 year old in BAP and got drafted on their first chance? What was your play amount and overall when drafted?
