I've been playing NHL series since NHL 94 and have bought the game every year. For the first time ever, I stopped playing the current version game altogether about couple weeks ago and went back to NHL 14 full time.

I think a lot of people like myself foolishly pre-ordered the game the second it became available before trying out the demo and they got lots of sale's of returning customers.

If the idiots at EA don't fire the guy responsible for this mess, next year they will really feel it financially. Come on 2K, wake the **** up.

Okay so I just bought the game today and honestly already regret it and I haven't even got the game up yet, my game downloads but is getting stuck in the installation and just isn't moving a bit....Im at about 7 hours now and really isn't moving a bit. I've tried everything, deleting the game and reinstalling, turning the system off and on and I've tried resetting my wifi and nothing is working. I want to know if anybody had this problem in the past and how they fixed it or if there is no fix how I go about getting my money back because this is ridiculous. Sorry for the rant.

The more I play it , the more I regret buying it. Very disappointing overall. Glad I only payed around $45 taxes in. Never again. EA should be ashamed of this. Lots of problems among other things.

There's a weird oddity in the physics I've discovered. It only happens once in every 5 games or so but it's frustrating if it's a key play. You'll be fighting for a puck and go for a hit, and your body accelerates and goes in a long arch nowhere near where you intended. Or you're racing for a puck after a dump in and if the the player chasing you is going to overtake you at some point, your player literally moves out of the way by a good 5-6 feet instead of staying on your current trajectory. Phantom physics.

This happened in 14 as well.

Wait, am I missing something, or do all the camera modes in OTP follow the puck?

At the very least the default one does. How the hell are you supposed to play defence when you can't even see your guy

I have to use overhead view or I can never see my player.

What's up with the defensive AI in this game?

My defenseman are just standing around and refuse to cover anyone who is standing in the slot. In my first season, Greiss was my starting goalie and he was ****ing terrible, so I traded for Bernier in the off season and he is even worse. I hate this game so much.

Everybody hits like a truck, stick lift always works for the CPU but never for me and the CPU controlled players are just beyond stupid in every phase of the game.

This game is so pathetic, I've played it like twice since I got FIFA 15 a month ago.
Usually I play NHL games year-round, or at least until January.

Does anyone know how to fix the goalie glitch? Anytime I even touch the goalie he goes flying and always leads to a fight.

Well.. Just lost a game in OT. My player glitched out and wouldn't stop skating forward leaving their team to get a wide open backdoor play.

Its funny how he claims AI defense is too good. Watch the goal beginning at 3:10. How do you explain that defense?

I think the defense is fine. I play a one man defense and I usually don't give up more than 2 goals. Although, I still lose most of my games because I have trouble scoring one.

AI offense is kinda dumb. I wish there were more strats for that.

I think poke check and stick lift are underpowered. I also feel that offensive players deke success rate is far too much.

I would like to see a buff on poke checks or a nerf on dekes.

Mods, please let me know if this should be posted elsewhere. Thanks.

Curious about two things on the PS3 version. I'm doing Be A Pro and apparently there's stats lines for "calling for pass", yet I can't see to find the "call for pass" button in any of the control options.

I'm also unable to find a "lock position" option/button anywhere for non-Be A Pro games. A quick Google search made it seem like this option is not available except in online multi-player and the aforementioned Be A Pro mode, but nothing explicitly confirmed it.

Anyone able to help me out here?

For question number 1: The call for the pass stats line just refers to when you hit the pass button while a teammate has possession of the puck. You'll notice your players tap their stick on the ice as they indicate that they are open. Good calls are obviously when you are actually open and receive the pass. Bad calls for a pass are when you are covered and it gets turned over. Essentially there is no actual button labelled as "Call for a pass" it is just the normal pass trigger.

For question number 2: In past versions you could lock your position at the start of the game or during the game by going to the menu where you select what side you are playing on. There should be a button to rotate between C, LW, RW, D, G, and Coach. I haven't tried this on NHL15 though, so maybe they changed it up.

Ah. That should explain it.

Usually it'd be with the shot/"enter" button (the X in this case), IIRC. It didn't work. I've actually only just bought my PS3, though, and I've never owned any console before, just a PC (finally broke down and bought one this year cause there's just no good games on the PC anymore except for expensive **** like StarCraft 2), so I haven't played any EA NHL game since 09. Maybe there's some other method?

Okay, so just tried it out. You can no longer lock your position while starting up the game. That being said you can still lock it once the game has started. Just hit start and go to settings then select sides. Once you reach that screen you can use (X on the 360 - Square on the PS3?) to lock your position as one of the positions mentioned in my last post.

Ah. Awesome. I'll try it out when I get home and let you know which button does it for PS3.

I think I tried to do it there once, but I only used the X button. Guess I'll find out.

PS: No Be A Pro thread for 15? Can we post our Be A Pro 15 stories in the 14 thread?

Anyone know when the Blues actual jerseys will be in the game? You'd think the NHL hockey video game would be able to get this down pat.

Also just noticed you can lock the position at the start of the game in Be a GM mode when selecting what line will go out first. Originally I was just looking at Play Now.
