Glad you can judge video game skills by simply reading forums.

To a certain extent, I can.
If you struggle scoring in this game then it's kinda clear that you aren't very good. Wouldn't it make sense that good players would be expected to do a fair bit of scoring?
(Exception:guys who only play D in EASHL)

Quick gameplay question;

The two things that make me rage:

Playing the CPU, their idiotic vaccuum style board play. They'll just pin you as you're flying by. Ok, fine but can I have one idiot on my team give me any sort of support? It's an instant turnover because there is nobody to kick it to.

Again vs. the CPU - any sort of bouncing puck you aren't getting, you can be right the thing and they'll just swoop by and snag it.

I wish there was a timeout cutscene. It just appears to be there with no acknowledgment at all except that your lines are restored to full. Even just a quick shot of the bench with players gathered around would do.
Ah well. Not enough people find it a big enough deal. So I guess I'm stuck with it.

Yeah. Maybe that and/or something under the score that says "Timeout - Ottawa" or whatever.

Yeah, this is pretty annoying. I don't get scored on because of it for the most part, because I box them out and give them nothing, but they'll just keep having the puck bounce off the boards/my players/their own players to them for half a minute or so. The puck just pinballs around my defensive zone for a while and nothing comes of it.

And yeah, your AI teammates are mostly useless. I especially like when they try to intercept a breakout pass, but just manage to slow it down, so the CPU player can pick it up in stride and they can be trapped up ice.

Hi all,

I am trying to put together an all-speed team in NHL 13. Can anyone tell me the highest rated speed players in the game. I know Grabner,Gaborik, and Marleau are up there.

I have the playmaker and it made me a 69 when I use to be a 59 but it lowered some of my stats that I upgraded

I think I remember Leopold being quick, but that might just be in GM mode since he benefits from the EA sim engine

I have Campbell he's beast in HUT they bumped his speed down to 89.

Three types of goals by the CPU:

1) You give it away, they snipe a corner instantly.
2) Random long point shot finds it's way to the back of net.
3) They score short side from the outside off the wing.

I swear the CPU scores these three types of goals on me and not much else. Kind of makes it boring. You know they're going to score and how they're going to score. Had some fun offensively though.

Our commissioner was disconnected from EAs server during the final stage of the block advance. When he reconnected and got into the league, none of the trades, waiver claims or free agent signings were processed. There were several CPU vs. CPU games that were listed as 0-0 finals (although their records didn't even reflect that games took place).

So now we wait until our GMs have finished their games so we can advance and hopefully it will take care of itself.

Anyone have experience with this?

Faceoffs have little to do with player ratings, you just have to be good at timing them

Seems I've finally found my groove in net. Last night I played around 10 games in club, and got 2 shutouts and put up a consistent .900+, even getting all the cross-creasers and everything
