Excited about two guys I drafted recently in Vancouver Dynasty who together I call the "dynamic duo"

Niko Koistinen-18 year old OFD, 1st Round Pick, (6th Overall), B potential (B-,B-,A), Overall-57, 6'4" 209lbs

Anthony Leclair-19 years old DFD, 1st Round Pick, (23rd Overall), B potential (B-,A-,B), Overall-57, 6'7" 223 lbs

I think in a couple of years these two will be a pairing in the NHL, hopefully my first pairing :D

Injuries in NHL 12 are so unrealistic. In Be a GM, the first 3 games of the season all 4 of my top defenders get injured long term. They better change that in NHL 13 or else it won't be as enjoyable.

Hopefully your still the GM at the time unlike me. You'd think a Stanley Cup would be enough for at least a 3 year or 2 year extension. Ah well, time to see what I can do with a prospectless Avs team. Wow they really screwed it up. You'll see in my next write-up.

Has anyone started a BeAGM with a terrible team? (brought in a team with a rating that's super low) What does the owner ask of you? Get a #1 pick? make the playoffs? I want to start one with a custom bad team and would like to see what others have experienced.
Thank you!!

Islanders trade Harding and Lessio to Columbus

New York Islanders announced that they have traded goalie Josh Harding and left winger Lucas Lessio to Columbus Blue Jackets for 2nd and 4th round picks in 2014 NHL Draft,

"This was a package that we look from Harding to get. A second rounder at least. Columbus was interested in Lessio so he was thrown also in the deal, as was their 4th rounder. I would have wanted a 4th from year 2015, but Blue Jackets didn't accept that. Good deal, win-win deal", said GM Southfield in team's press release.

Jose Theodore will be a backup in Islanders now and Johan Persson will replace Lessio in Brigeport's roster.

I don't have the time or interest in making a long ass writeup, so Little Jacob has purchased the Ottawa 67s of the OHL and has signed an agreement with the NHL to have the team replace the Florida Panthers. All of Florida's players will not be retained, meaning the 67s will have their own roster for the upcoming season. The team's better players include forward Tyler Toffoli, defenceman Cody Ceci, and goaltender Petr Mrazek. It is expected that the older players on the AHL affiliate will be bought out, and replaced with various overagers from the CHL.

Short and sweet, and done from my iPhone lol.

More to come

Colorado Avalanche win Lottery ticket and get 1st overall pick

draft_medium_medium.jpg

The Draft, some teams most crucial time of the year especially the Colorado Avalanche who were excited recently when they got a call from NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman telling them they won the draft lottery. "We were jumping out of our seats in the conference room when we got that call," said GM Dan Murray, " This gives us a lot more options in draft picks and possibly options in trading..." One surprising thing that occurred in the past few hours was the trading of Center Paul Stastny to Montreal in exchange for Center Tomas Plekanec. Paul Stastny was drafted by Colorado in 2005 in the 2nd Round and recently completed his fifth NHL season with them. GM Murray told the media, "I know many are surprised about the trade and I also know some of you may not be happy with it, but Paul wasn't producing with us, and Tomas seemed to have had a good year with Montreal and would be a good fit in the Colorado line-up. I especially like his passing and unselfishness when he has the puck." Details of the trade are listed below:

After all the hype from the first overall pick was calmed, the Avalanche made their interesting selection of Kip Coliaiacova of the Edmonton Oil Kings. He along with David Musil and Kevin Bailie were on the top of GM Dan Murray's list of draftees. "A lot of other GM's are asking me why didn't I pick Nugent-Hopkins or Larsson and I told them we don't need those type of superstar players. We need defensemen who can score and rack up points since last year we finished 22nd in Goals scored. But we also need guys like David who can play both ends of the ice." Many of the GM's were also surprised how Murray did not pick a single forward in this draft since others think the Avalanche need more depth on the wing. The drafting selections are listed below:

See Ya, Scott!

Howson finally fired after another dismal season

Scott+Howson.jpg

Scott Howson at today's press conference.

Today is a happy day if you are a Columbus Blue Jackets fan. After another miserable year, Scott Howson has finally walked the plank. At a press conference today, it was announced Howson has been let go. No immediate replacement has been named, although a fellow by the name of Little Jacob has shown up in recent speculation. As for the Rick Nash saga, Nash may hold more value after a 45 goal season. Blue Jackets management said they will begin the search for their next GM very soon. If any news arises, we will be sure to bring it to you via HFBoards.com --> NHL 12 Dynasty Thread Part 5.

Jacob Ready To Drive The Blue Bus To Success
Little Jacob is new Columbus GM

New Jackets GM Little Jacob after seeing the team's roster.

Little is he known around the hockey world. But, the Columbus Blue Jackets feel he's the man for the job. The Blue Jackets announced at a press conference the hiring of Little Jacob as the team's new General Manager, the 3rd in franchise history. Jacob spoke to the media over the phone. "I am very happy to come to Ohio" he said. "Obviously, 2011-2012 was rough for this team. I am here to fix those problems. I will bring Stanley Cup hockey to Columbus. That is my goal". The hiring was met with mixed emotions from the fanbase. "I'm happy Scott's gone, but why hire a guy who sounds like a pothead who lives in Liberty City?". We thought the same. For now, Jackets fans will sink in to the reality that Scott Howson is gone. The NHL Entry Draft is June 23rd, where Columbus holds the 4th overall pick.

QMJHL BUYOUT

Baie-Comeau Drakkar of the QMJHL have been bought by a group of NHL players, Vincent Lecavlier, Danny Briere, and Martin St-Louis. They plan to get rid of all their players and prospects and build from this years midget draft, import draft, and upcoming summer. They're team will consist of mostly players who plan on attending a US college, but the direction this team is going, and their education package is matched by none. They should ice a very deep team this year that will compete for a Memorial Cup for a few years, because they have such a young core. Lecavlier*said a coach, GM, and assistants hires will come very soon with the Midget and Import Drafts coming up. For the coaching spots, it is said to be between Stéphane Matteau who is an assistant for Blainville Armada, Luc Robitaille who is a former NHL player, Fabian Joseph who is an assistant to Danny Flynn of the Moncton Wildcats, and there is even speculation that NHL player Stephane Robidas is in the running. Rumors say that one of these guys will be the head coach along two as assistants. In the GM spot, rumors say that it's down to former Tampa Bay Lightning player Dave Andreychuk, and former Montreal Canadiens player Patrice Brisebois. A press conference is supposed to be held later today to make these announcements.

LECAVLIER, ST. LOUIS AND BRIERE HIRE STAFF

**At a press conference earlier today, it has been announced by Daniel Briere that Luc Robitaille is the new head coach of the Drakkar. "Luc has tons of experience in the NHL and QMJHL, and that is going to help out this team a ton. He has been a leader everywhere he's been and we are very excited to get the season underway to see what he can do." said Briere to one reporter. "It is an honor to be named head coach and I have always been wanting to coach since I retired, and now that dream is a reality

* Martin St. Louis announced that the assistant coaches are Stéphane Matteau and Fabian Joseph. "Both these guys played in the NHL and QMJHL and both will bring a great deal of leadership to this team. We are quite excited about these guys." St. Louis said. "I am very excited to work with Luc and Stéphane and we feel that we are going to surprise quite a few people next year. I can't wait to get started with the draft which is coming up very soon." said Joseph in an interview. Matteau didn't attend the meeting so he had no comments.

* Vincent Lecavlier then announced the GM. "The Baie-Comeau Drakkar are very proud to announce that former Laval Titan and Montréal Canadien Patrice Brisebois is the new GM. We couldn't be more excited to have Patrice as our GM. He played in the NHL as recent as '09 and he will bring a lot of energy to this squad." said Vincent. "I cannot wait until the draft which is coming up very soon and I can't wait to get things started here in Baie-Comeau. I know we have brought in a great coaching staff and they are excited as well." said Brisebois.

In the Midget draft, the Drakkar have the first pick overall, and it's expected that 4 players from the draft will crack the line-up. "We are really only looking at the first round right now. If we have to trade up, I can assure you we will have at least 3 first rounders and a second rounder. We already have a deal in place with an opposing team to get another top 10 pick." said Brisebois in an interview.

All the players of the Drakkar have been let go and are now in Free Agency.

DRAFT DAY

The Drakkar have made deals to acquire picks 6, 11 and 18. They had to trade every other pick in the draft to get these but the GM said with now 4 first rounders they know who they are targeting with all four pick. "I can confirm to you that we are getting two forwards and two defenceman with our picks. We already know who we are taking first and have a good idea who we're taking sixth. I have been out to watch many midget games all across Eastern Canada and I can assure you our first overall pick is ready to jump into a scoring role right away." said Brisebois to the press. Assistant coach Stéphane Matteau said, "Patrice knows who our first pick is, but we get to help out in deciding the next three. We know what type of players we want, and that is who we will take. Character kids." "The draft tonight sure is going to be exciting," said Lecavlier, "I can remember my draft like it was yesterday. Very exciting times for everyone selected."

After another year of missing the playoffs, Leafs decided to turn their fortune around in the 2012 draft. They had the 6th overall pick but made a shocking trade on draft day when they traded Luke Schenn and Colby Armstrong to Dallas for their 1st round draft pick which was also the 1st overall. Leafs took Nail Yakupov as their 1st overall pick and took Ryan Murray as their 6th overall pick.

LIVE DRAFT

The Drakkar are at the Pepsi Colisée for the draft. There is tons of excitement in the air, and the place is packed. The Drakkar are expected to make their selection very soon.*

When commissioner Gilles Courteau calls upon the Drakkar, Lecavlier, Briere, St. Louis, Brisebois, and Robitaille all take to the stage. Lecavlier goes to the mic and says, "First off, I would like to thank the Québec Remparts for their great hospitality and it is a great city to host the draft in. I would know like to call upon head coach Luc Robitaille to make our pick." Robitaille goes up and makes the pick. "The Baie-Comeau Drakkar are very excited to select, from College Esther-Blondin, Daniel Audette." The crowd goes crazy while the cameras are all on Audette and the Drakkar unveil the jersey. He gets his picture taken and then he and the staff walk off stage. "I'm going to be honest, before the new owners, I wasn't going to report to Baie-Comeau. They don't have a great track record of developing players but as soon as I heard my childhood idol Vincent Lecavlier bought the team, I was all for it. I can't wait to get started!" said Audette. Audette is 5'7" and 165 lbs. "Daniel has a very high hockey IQ and he brings tons of energy to the table. He plays a lot like his father and will wear the same number (28) as him as well. We are very excited to have him!" said Brisebois.

The next four picks belonged to the PEI Rocket, Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, Gatineau Olympiques, and Rouyn-Noranda Huskies in that order. Alexis Pépin, Clark Bishop, Alexandre Carrier, and Francis Perron were selected respectively. When Gilles Courteau called upon the Drakkar again, the same five guys went up. Patrice Brisebois made the selection. "The Baie-Comeau Drakkar are so, very proud to select, from the St-Eustache Vikings, Loik Levéille." Levéille went up on stage to recieve his jersey and get a picture. "I had a great feeling that Baie-Comeau was going to take me," said Loik, "And as soon as Robitaille had been named head coach I knew I was going here. My father is a friend of his so it's really exciting!" Loik is 5'11" and 200 lbs. GM Patrice Brisebois had this to say about the youngster, "Loik is a very strong defenceman, who is great offensively and isn't afraid to take risks. He has a solid chance of being in our top four next year, but will for sure play on the team."

There was another 4 players picked in between but the Drakkar had their next pick now. Gilles called them up yet again, but this time Robitaille did not go up and the assistant coaches did. Stéphane Matteau was to make the pick. "The Baie Comeau Drakkar are proud to select, 11th overall, from the St-Eustache Vikings, Carl Neill." Neill went on stage to recieve his jersey and get a photo. "I was not expecting to go in the first round, yet alone 11th overall. Words can't explain how excited I am to go this high, and to this team. I hope to crack the roster and get the season underway." said Neill. Brisebois had this to say about the kid, "Carl is a good solid two-way defenseman. He was on our target for awhile now and we are excited to have him. He will be on the team next year, but he may be a 7th or 8th dman. He definetly could play on the bottom pairing though. Training camp will be interesting for this kid."

This time the Drakkar had to wait 6 picks until they were up again. This time Fabian Joseph would make the pick. "The Drakkar are proud to select, with the last pick of the first round, from the Boston Junior Bruins, Jack Eichel." Eichel is comitted to an NCAA school and didn't bother showing up to the draft. Brisebois said, "Jack we think, is just as good as Daniel and if we can convince him to report it will be a steal of a pick. He brings a lot to the table and we think our NHL type staff and management will at least make him think twice about reporting. We will know more at the Import Draft."

"Overall, we had a great draft and we expect all players to make the team out of camp. Daniel, Loik, Carl and Jack are integral pieces to our future. Assuming all players play, Daniel will wear No. 28, Loik will wear No. 7, Carl No. 4, and Jack No. 11." said coach Luc Robitaille.

Note: I am not going to post any more of my Dallas Stars GM mode, because it has been so long I've gotten bored with it. I will still play it, but I'm not going to post. So if anyone wants to write about Dallas, go ahead.

Next I am starting a fantasy draft Be a GM with Edmonton. I took the 2nd overall pick.
