On the internet they generally are since they are usually the same people until TSNBobMcKenzie confirms it.

And since we are going to be into a little little semantic thingy, when the rumor is confirmed, it's not a rumor.

That’s not a rumor. That’s someone saying “these are the candidates out there who are likely on the list, and here’s why this one is a good fit.” Speculation.

A rumor would be a decent source, even the guy at BSB, saying “the Rangers have interest in Keefe.”

There’s a world of difference between those two.

That’s not necessarily true.

I think they are just being careful with the candidates until they feel comfortable that the new coach doesn’t bring in a new or reinforce the existing Russian Bias.

I don’t think he should be ruled out, it’s important to read what people are saying. Brooks states that people “have expressed skepticism of his readiness for the assignment”. Carp and Zipay, right?, are stating similar things.

Look, it just comes down to this. Keefe has some — de facto — USPs. Right. His teams are doing well. Top rosters, sure, but they are still doing well. Nobody can take that away from him. But there are many successful coaches outside the NHL out there. This doesn’t put Keefe into a top 3, maybe top 25.

Let’s face it, most of the reasons — we — like Sheldon Keefe could be created by anyone by hiring any type of publisher or by someone himself with any kind of media skill, in addition to the Toronto Media hyping the f*** out of him. Just like they did with his predecessor Dallas Eakins. Right?

In short, I just think these guys are saying that among the hockey people most of the stuff written by Tor media are seen through completely. BUT Keefe is still a young kid with a great record, and Gorton would listen to what he has to say. But given that there are plenty of coaches out there who have had success — Keefe needs to do very very well to convince Gorton that he should get the job.

Keith McCambridge is always an option because he can function as an interim guy. Gorts wouldn’t have to commit long term to him. Giving someone 5 years that you aren’t sold on is tough, will not look great if you want a change a year in. Gorton can always go out and say, we know that KM will do a great job with the kids and coach the team well, the search continues but KM is the interim coach.

Opening Night tickets wouldn't be a problem this year. I can't see Dolan letting this go down, this would be tank central.

His brother still pals around with Frost and Danton, from what I understand, or at least had been pretty recently. Which is weird given all that went down there. And since Sheldon and Adam are fairly close, it makes some people uncomfortable. I can't hold Sheldon responsible for what Adam is doing in his free time, but I see why some still fixate on it, given the scandalous nature of the whole affair.

Admit it. A coach who can say...backcheck or I'll effing kill you..and have the players so scared they actually do it...is a bit appealing isn't it?

Even in the interview attached from 2015 he says how the stuff with Jefferson wasn't what it appeared to be, it's not his fault and it's not what I looked like, etc. That's not a good look imo. He's a grown man and the accusations are pretty horrifying and backed up with photos that he himself had in his possession.

I know people like the idea of him from a hockey angle, and I do too, but there's definitely some sketchy stuff in his personal history that he still hasn't handled so well imo. I wouldn't be shocked at all if this stuff turns Gorton and co off.

Here’s my philosophy

Shoot from everywhere and anywhere and crash the net hard
Hit everyone and everything every shift
Clear the front of your crease
Stand up for your teammates

If you fail to do any of these things you’re healthy scratch. Simple
