Is it still lazy if they interview 12 candidates and he was the best interview?

I mean it’s not going to happen, but still...
Please don't put this evil on us, Tawnos. If Gorton can't find a better option than Bylsma, this place will go nuclear.

I’m just saying. John Muckler was a lazy hire. The Rangers have already interviewed more coaches than they did before hiring him.

it's lazy if they interviewed a bunch and said "ehhh I don't like making this hard decision let's just go with this guy who won a cup once upon a time"

Yeah, but that’s not what would be happening even if he was the guy they hired. Which he won’t be.

I was a wee lad when he coached here, but wasn't Muckler a remnant from Slat's glory days in Edmonton? I guess the only real person that fits that mold for Gorton would be Scott Gordon since he was with Providence at that time. I guess Jay Leach too since he was on that team coached by Gordon. That whole Boston crew actually has some pretty interesting connections with Chiarelli, Gorton, Sweeney, and Jim Benning.

Back to coaches: Leach and Sandelin are definitely two of the more intriguing names that I've seen suggested. Let's hope some more stuff comes out soon with the organizational meetings starting today.

Ok so 2 votes for John Muckler

I would chalk up Bylsma being confused by the Rangers rebuild as a major win. Anytime you can ward off the morons it’s a good look.

In Bylsma's defense, I've heard the same crap from a lot of the media, that the Rangers can't be serious about a rebuild if they're looking at Kovalchuk. But, that's because most of them are lazy

Dude, AV isn't going to have a job this year...

Means we still have to hand out cash for him. Sucks. But then again, Dolan's wallet is basically

I hope to God the Rangers don't hire Bylsma, but I have to be honest, I have a lot of the same questions he does in terms of a definitive path forward for the franchise.
