Something strange about hockey culture is the disdain for the soccer like diving and the “classless” Euros that do it because they are influenced by soccer. But nobody minds that a goalie can blow his ACL mid play and you just continue the play and fire pucks at him, while in soccer the opponent stops and kicks the ball out of bounds.

Also if you are using the word “dive” for what happened with Necas I pray English isn’t your first language.

Some names on here that are still really weird seeing on an old timers roster. Would be fun if they would stream it.

I think they still split the players up between two teams and fill the rest of the roster with wealthy beer leaguers willing to pay for a fantasy camp. I know somebody who did that once. He indeed had a blast.
Yeah, if you've got the cash to burn, I really couldn't think of a better way as a hockey fan.

Steve Rice? Holy hell. I forgot he played a season for the Canes. Dude fell off a cliff. Rutherford signed him to an offer sheet to get him from Edm. Whalers lost the late Bryan Marchment to them as compensation after former coach Pierre Maguire provided testimony the players the Whalers offered weren’t good enough compensation. He had just been fired and had been coaching the players in question like a month before. That’s how they used to do offer sheet compensation. You offered what you thought was fair, they asked for the moon. If you didn’t offer enough the mediator gave them the moon.

I think Rice and Brind’amour are in their 50s. Or is this a joke that went over my head?

Edit: I missed the defenseman. Few old timers in that group.

Yeah, I saw the defense and a few of the forwards (Whitney being another) and then saw Sutter, whose the youngest by like 10-15 years
