I think they *are* being pretty clear that they think Kochetkov is ready to be an everyday starter right now. They're trying to kinda hold the door open for Freddie in case he does get healthy, but the confidence the org has been showing in Kochetkov signals pretty clearly to me that he's our starter.
After tonight, they probably need to seriously reconsider this stance, then

GMDW did a podcast with the Storm Cast during the AS break. he said then he expected in the very near future that we would have a Rod extension to announce.

Kochetkov: .917 (8th best in the NHL out of 40)
Raanta: .888 (tied for 36th in the NHL out of out of 40). And the goalie he's tied with is Shesterkin.

Kochetkov: 2.19 (6th best in the NHL out of 40)
Raanta: 2.50 (11th best in the NHL out of 40)

Defense and special team have been the difference.

Seth Jarvis is also the all-time record holder for goals scored by Seth Jarvis. I’m pretty confident that won’t change, either, as he’s only getting better.

I think they just want to see more Koochie. If Koochie can get in a groove they'll have their awnser.
