Hey there,

my hometown team in Biel, Switzerland seems interested in signing Colin White for the remainder of the season. What can you guys tell me about him? What sort of player is he? Strengths, weaknesses?

Greetings from Switzerland!

Certainly has size and at his best is a useful stay at home defender. Thought he played decently during 2010-11 and was surprised when the Devils bought him out. Several of my friends are Sharks fans, so I end up watching San Jose a lot as a result. I was surprised to see how badly White played for them. I'm not sure if I was just drinking the Kool-Aid previously, but White's mobility looked awful last season.

I forget if the Swiss league uses Olympic sized rinks, but that would be my first worry about White. If they need a physical defender with plenty of experience, White should be able to provide that.

i saw this on the mainboard and did a quick search. is there any truth to this? seems like a lot to make up. one thing i know Ed Olczyk was a ****** hockey player and he's also a **** announcer. I hope Doc gets split up from that dweeb.

On a Facebook account linked to Diana Olczyk, this post was discovered during the second period of Saturday’s Philadelphia-Pittsburgh game: “One thing Eddie didn’t miss from the lockout was hearing that someone ‘shuffleboarded’ a puck out of the zone. Who does that anyway? And if I have to hear one more person ‘ladle the puck ahead,’ I may throw up. I’d like to ‘spirit’ him right out of the booth.”

Later, this was sent from the Twitter account for @enzoswife: “#doc? Doctor of what? #Doctordeath if I have to hear this all #season.”

Yup the guy's worthless. Pierre is almost as bad, but not quite when the two are split up. When they're together, Doc or not it becomes very hard to listen to.

Also if I have to hear one more good active stick I think I may throw up.

I felt bad for him at the time, but I think it's funny that Mario had to can his pathetic ass from the bench.

oh yeah i forgot he was a coach, another thing he did badly.

it was clear last season how MUCH he wanted the kings to win. doc should exclusively work w/ pierre.

EDIT: it looks like i have been duped, seems like the website is b.s. ed o still suck though.

And the Rangers too. I didn't even hate this guy so much until I had to put up with 2 straight playoff rounds of him last year. He also called out Marty for almost every goal he gave up including one that changed direction. The guy is a massive tool.

That's too bad, I have my reservations about how the NHL will fare in Seattle. I went to Phoenix last week [mumble]to watch a WWE event[/mumble] and caught a Kings/Coyotes game while I was there. The arena is nice, but it's just a little out of the way from Phoenix.

The Royal Rumble! That was a very good show

There were moments during last years playoffs that you could really tell Olczyk was unhappy having to work with both Doc and Pierre. I get the feeling that he doesn't like having to listen to guys who didn't play the game.

And that's funny, 'cause Olczyk was awful.

I think Seattle will be a good market for the NHL. That Vancouver rivalry needs to be established but it will yield to good things and a stronger US presence. Assuming someone has some patience to get it done and let it grow.

Royal Rumble was pretty good. Rock vs Cena II is i dunn though.

Best part of the Rangers struggling: If it happens to continue, they don't even own their first round pick this year!

There has to be a team in Seattle/Portland. Crazy that Colorado and Minnesota are in the Northwest. They are no where near Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver.
