Well today it's a marathon of the US Juniors road to the gold medal (replays of every game). Which is fine considering it just ended yesterday, but I'm anxious to actually see some original programming since I only got the NHL Network in the spring.

Me too! Not that I hated it over there, but it was more active when looking for some random updates so I stayed on it frequently.

Probably. We always come out, and make him look like the elite goalie he was projected to be before he became a trash can. Now he can't get up out of bed without injuring something.
I'm sure if we face him this year he shuts us out though like always! We're the only team he's shut out in 5 years, and he's done it twice. If not I'm sure Anders Nilsson will be back to troll us again!

Kovy played today. Or yesterday I guess now.

They play again Tuesday.
I'm a little worried about him. With the big minutes he plays, and he's got more wear, and tear on him already than anybody. Even the guys who played in the AHL. He's been playing since September now.

I don't think Kovy is going all out in the KHL and there's barely any checking. He's not getting worn down. Especially at the rate that he would be had the season started on time. He'll be fine. I'm actually less worried about him than the rest of the team. At least he's in shape.

Yeah he is in game shape. I hope he isn't used as much as he was last year. Think he averaged almost 25 minutes a game last year. In the KHL it's been just under 20. 22 a night should be good. No need for those 26 minute marathons every game.

I'm not saying Kovalchuk wants to stay there, because everyone knows how much he loves the NHL and wants to play there. But why wouldn't he want to play in his native country, while getting paid the same money he is in the NHL? Maybe even more.
The KHL is apparently offering inducements for players to stay. Probably something of very high value.
