They are terrible, they finished 13th in the West last year after leading the league a quarter of the way through.

Heatley will basically have to be bought out. Backstrom, Bouchard, Clutterbuck and Cullen are FAs in the summer

Well that depends. I'm a little concerned about the Devils in this situation, although I think the lockout and late start helps to avoid the usual SC run-hangover.

I think the Devils may have a bit of a rough go of it this year, just a gut feeling, so it'll be interesting to watch to see what Lou does.

Suddenly Eklund is a credible source to some on the main board because he had one thing right at the end of 2012. The only thing he was right about the entire year.

Well that depends. I'm a little concerned about the Devils in this situation, although I think the lockout and late start helps to avoid the usual SC run-hangover.

I think the Devils may have a bit of a rough go of it this year, just a gut feeling, so it'll be interesting to watch to see what Lou does.

I have the same feeling -- I don't think we'll be an overwhelming team this year, and I'm hoping we won't be an underwhelming one.

But, then again, even with the barest of rosters, the Devils find a way into the postseason. And from there, it's a crapshoot.

Let's just hope there's a season first.

Nothing to dislike about any of that.
Cap near the same, plenty of room to re-sign all the upcoming UFAs/RFAs.
With a re-signing term advantage.

I'd like 100 years over 10... but it's better than the initially proposed 5 years.

Good work by whoever was there tonight, too bad it couldn't be done in September, but so it is....
