Excluding Calgary, Colorado is 7th in the waiver lineup.

What I want to know is if the other 6 teams happened to pass on ROR, could Colorado have claimed him? They basically let ROR go for a 1st + 3rd and then get ROR back via waivers. Ultimate troll move.

@RealKyper: Hearing #NHL #NHLPA will soon announce an agreement in principle on realignment. Players appear comfortable enough moving forward.

Awful, just awful. The league basically strong-armed the PA into doing this when a large percentage of players didn't want it. Unless there's some sort of change made to this that we haven't heard of yet, this is just pathetic.

How do we know a 'large' percentage of players didn't want it? We can't just go by Kovy and some other Devils and take them as a sampling of the whole league. I'm sure Detroit players are thrilled at less travel.

It depends on your perspective. The East teams probably aren't in favor of it but can live with whatever since they don't have a lot of travel anyway. West teams needed some sort of adjustment (either by time zone or distance), it's obviously more important for them to get something they need out of this.

It's to the point where if he's going to be a hockey player at all he may need to go overseas and get away from the circus.

I hope they just switch Columbus/Winnipeg and ditch this whole re-alignment BS. Also wish they'd talk about shortening the season a bit, 82 games is way too long. I think 60 would be a great number

They'll never shorten the season. Too much money involved in keeping it as it is.

I am not looking forward to this. I have a complete conviction that the league will manage to screw up the one thing it does right: the playoffs.

No way the league would allow that. They'd invoke the spirit of the rules or whatever. Teams can't just take free picks from each other, even if the GMs involved are idiots.

I think he tried that over in Germany, and was injured in his first game there duing the lockout. I might be wrong by his first game, but it was very early in his time there.

It seems like he will get bought out though. If he is I'm not sure he can find a job in the NHL. There's no way cause there's better goalie out of work in this league right now than DP. Brent Johnson is no good, but he's more serviceable than DP. He will get a job in the NHL again long before DP.

There were tweets going around from NHL analysts saying they heard it was about a 50/50 split on who was okay with and not okay with the realignment.

This entire realignment is just to setup for expansion and it sickens me.

Realignment is going to be a waste of time if Phoenix relocates to Quebec City. They'd have to move them into the NW + Florida teams division/conference/whatever the **** they want to call it, then move one of those teams to the Atlantic+ division, then move Columbus back out West.

Expansion is going to happen eventually, but pushing this realignment through is really reckless.

Nah, 2 or 4 tops. But yes, the expansion is a stupid idea from the hockey standpoint. **** the business standpoint.

I don't think they can do more than 2 teams. 32 teams balances out 4 divisions of 8 teams each, and I think this was the NHL's plan all along, as stupid as this plan is.

Always fun when something goofy like that happens. About once a year, it seems like somebody has to sign some local college kid to serve as backup. Off the top of my head, I think Minnesota had this 50 year old guy (friend of one of the coaches) serve occasionally as a goalie during practices. They called up somebody from the AHL, but their flight got delayed. The old guy got to suit up for warmups for an actual game, but the AHL goalie arrived just in time.

I think somebody on the main board also pointed out that Tallas is younger than Marty.

Yeah Phoenix called someone who worked in a local hockey store or something.
