Regarding Elias, I'm not worried about him. Last time was different. He was a free agent in his prime and was looking to make what he was worth. Lou's not gonna lowball him, but I doubt Patty's looking to go anywhere else at this point. Moving to a new team at 37 is different than moving to a new team at 30.

Not if you're Jagr. But Jagr never gave a **** anyway, he was always about the money.

Elias having that gasbag Walsh as an agent is another reason I'm still kinda worried.

Was Walsh Sykora's agent when we signed him out of camp last year? I know he is now, but was he then?

Ducks really went all out this year, huh? Honestly, big props to them for doing what they needed to to keep these players AND make them actually WANT to stay. That's more than Lou can say.

Not sure if they can live up to those contracts, though. Much more pressure to produce now and it wouldn't be that much of a surprise to find out their best years are behind them.

If we lose Patty and Clarkson/Zubbie I'd say Lou has failed the past few seasons as a GM.

We can not continue to lose our homegrown talent and replace them with minor cast offs... I think we really screwed up not signing Semin or atleast making a very serious attempt at him.

Malkin we have no shot at and I don't know if we have the pieces to grab Bobby Ryan.

Uh, what? I guess retaining Kovy, Elias, Brodeur, and Zajac in their primes is nothing but losing the likes of Gomez, Martin, Gionta, and a now really overpaid Parise was crippling.

Lou sucks.

Mike Smith is the best stickhandler in the league besides Brodeur, but is not a very good goaltender overall.

Sounds like Marty Turco a little bit. Marty Turco wasn't spectacular stopping the puck, but made up for it with the stick. Dipietro believe it or not (As much as we make fun of him) was actually really good at both at one time. Before he suffered a trillion injuries.

Agreed. 30 year old career backup before last year. Overinflated stuffed mushroom who wears ridiculous equipment (Like most of them) I told you he'd be a flash in the pan, but some people didn't believe me. He's stick got his stickhandling skills though I've seen him gave quite a few Moose episodes. He also had just as many gaffes last playoffs as Marty did when playing the puck.

Quick is having a bad year too, but I don't believe he was a fluke at all. However if he doesn't get back to where he was early next season then we just might be stuck with Ryan Miller for the olympics again. Though there is a possibility Craig Anderson can jump into the mix. Quick looking for his first shutout of the season tonight.

Quick was definitely a fluke last year, but that doesn't mean he isn't still an excellent goaltender. Although he could come out and have another playoffs like last year and if that's the case, I just ****in' give up already. Trade for Bremier.

I still think Lundqvist is much better. Quick has been a pretty good goalie throughout his career though. He got his first shutout tonight of the season. I know of another top goalie who has yet to get a shutout so far this season too.:help:

There's been a lot of goalies having bad years. Pekka Rinne hasn't had a great season or at least not as of late. His overall save percentage and GAA are boosted because of the 5 shutouts he has which are half of his wins.

"Dipietro leaves the crease to play the puck and oh...shatters his ankle in a million pieces"

Interesting how the Wild keep winning with Parise being kept off the scoresheet.

I don't wish any ill will on Parise. He left for a boat load of cash, and anyone who would say differently is a grade A liar.

The writting was on the wall the second he inked that one year deal and despite what everyone was saying, Lou should've shopped him around in that same offseason when Parise and his "entourage" forced Lou's hand to sign that one year deal.

It took forever to get a deal worked out and at the end of the line, we managed to get the ultimate worst case scenario, wich had him hit free agency the following year.

Yes, Parise was a key piece in our cup run but I'm certain the players we would've gotten in return would've helped us as much and would still be around this year as well. No one can convince me that Parise wouldn't of gotten us a lesser top 6 forward, a prospect and a 1st at the very least.

Anyways, he's gone and I could care less about the Wild.

You're saying that Parise would have gotten a larger return then Kovalchuk? Doubtful. Parise is a hell of a player, nobody can deny that. But Kovalchuk - specifically at the time of his trade - had the ability to blow a game completely open in a way Parise never will.

Parise would've gotten a better return then Kovalchuk for the simple fact that we don't have Don Waddell in charge of transactions. We would've gotten a similar or bigger return cause at the time, Parise was known to be a complete player where as Kovy was more of a offense only type of player.

Anyways, it's just ashame that we didn't do anything with him the second he told us he wanted to resign... for just 12 months.

Well to be fair to Quick he did come off a pretty serious surgery in offseason

Apparently Bob McKenzie stated on TV that Iginla may have submitted a list of teams to be traded to. It'd seem like Pittsburgh is the most logical destination.

2 of the 5 most valuable free agents as of now are Devils.....gulp.

Elias won't go anywhere. I'm only worried about Clarkson.

We ended our season 2 games away from the Holy Graal with Parise, Lou took the right decision.

Ya, I don't understand the argument that we should have traded Parise at the deadline last season. We wouldn't have gotten to the Final without him.
