I can't believe this is going to return a 1st and 3rd, even if you remove the tough matchups he is a very bland body.

His value was 100% made up by the insider rumor mill.

The Bruins magic better rub off on Gavrikov because he is the definition of mediocre. And that might be generous. And he is not even a RHD.

Montgomery has that team so well coached that I feel like anyone can perform well there. Every time I see them play I see smart well supported passes into open areas for teammates to skate into.

Buffalo getting reamed in their own barn. Feel like I need a shower rooting for the Leafs.

Buffalo really might want to address that goaltending hole at some point, unless they are going to start 101-year old Craig Anderson every game.

MTL beating another good team in the Devils. Buffalo getting stomped, DET up on WAS. Isles obviously have their own fate in their hands. The character guys came out to play against PIT despite the team as a whole playing pretty badly. Gonna be an interesting end to the season. Time to stock up on Tylenol.

I think we are going to need something stronger than Tylenol when all is said and done!

I think I have a bottle of Absinthe somewhere that I can dig up.

Caps and Pens aren't that good. Only thing Pitt has going for it are games in hand.

Detroit had 4-1 road trip. I watched DVR of tonight vs Caps. They are full of energy, swarm defensively around the net to clear and protect rebounds and Husso looks really good. They won without Larkin who got tossed early

Fla has a lot of games at home coming up. Buffalo can go either way. They have games in hand but need to add I believe

We'll see the next few games if the 2 wins tell us more about the Isles or the Penguins

Through it all I said 50/50 on playoffs on day 1 and feel the same today

How do some of those teams have 4, 5 games in hand? Isles play another tonight. do the isles get a week or two off towards the end of the season or what?

I had to look as it always seems like we are playing and they are not...as of Feb/March/April

Islanders - 13 / 12 / 7 (11 home games as of 02.22)
Buffalo - 10 / 15 / 8 (14 home games as of 02.22)
Detroit - 12 / 15 / 7 (13 home games as of 02.22)
Pittsburgh-11 / 15 / 7 (14 home games as of 02.22)

All of the have tough schedule...Pittsburgh though plays one week in march - 4 times , one against Montreal and three against the Rags.

Looks like March is ‘slow’ for the Isles, then.

Malort. Paddy. Fireball. Everclear (in case of emergency). Come on over, I'm well stocked.

Per Rotowire, it appears that Hellebuyck vs. Sorokin is confirmed. O/U of 5.5 goals.

Should be a fun goalie matchup. Hellebuyck is probably my second favorite goalie after Sorokin, with Kyle Connor one of my favorite non-Isles players.

With the Hartford Whalers long gone in CT, the Jets are a team that I typically root for next, after the Isles.

Fun team to watch.

such a strong 2nd line, for the record Ehlers was my guy in 2015 to draft

Same here, I liked Ehlers in that draft.

I was also greedy and, after the Isles traded up to get Barzal and got the early second, I was really hoping they could work one more minor miracle also snag Connor.

But the Jets didn't waste any time making that pick.
