Doubtful the Devils stay there, but they are giving themselves some nice padding in case they slip, they shouldn’t have far to go to get back into a playoff spot.

The end of WAS and/or PIT was going to happen at some point, freeing up other teams to take their place in the playoffs- that may be this season.
 
Tampa is going easy on opponents. I think the coach saves strategies for the playoffs so teams don't have time to prepare. Imagine the pain if tampa was about to complete an islander level dynasty this spring.

No teams do that. Teams generally don't prep for their opponent that much in the NHL until the playoffs because they're constantly changing opponents. Tampa Bay can't complete an Islander level dynasty, they already lost.
 
I was just watching The real Kyper and Bourne podcast (Bobby Bourne's son)

He was telling a story about Nystrom applying for the Isles coaching job and he asked Lindy Ruff (who was coaching Buffalo at the time) to fill it out. The team was sooo impressed! Then he didn't get the job...I guess they found out..haha

I think the Devils are for real. I'd be shocked if they don't make the playoffs at this point. I think the top 7 teams right now in the East will make it. And one of WAS or PIT will overtake FLA.

Oh they are definitely going to make the playoffs unless they have a monumental collapse.

Will their goaltending hold up in the playoffs? That’s my concern, also their future best defenseman is currently playing in the NCAA. I don’t see them going all the way this season, but they are moving in the right direction.

They are still paying Corey Schneider for two more years, so they have that option.

I don’t believe in the Devils goaltending enough to see them as a serious threat. Yeah, they’re a playoff team. Banking regular season points. So are the Islanders. But being “for real”? I don’t think they are yet.

And it doesn’t look like there any options out there to upgrade the goaltending either.
 
Hey fellas,

Not sure this is the right place to ask this. If not let me know and I'll move it appropriately

I was curious if anyone played Strat O Matic computer hockey and if so how they like it. I grew up playing the card game of both Strat and APBA

I was toying with the idea of getting the computer version as a Christmas gift for myself, er I mean my son so I, um he, can enjoy the game in a digital format

Dude on Tampa just totally rolled ottinger- right in to him. Only a 2 min m8nor for interference. Should have been a 5 major and game misconduct

Laine is softer than baby sh!t.

Jarmo should be fired immediately. He is a reactionary GM who simply looks at "talent" and names with no clue how to build a team or evaluate mental fortitude.

His only saving grace has been that his scouts seemingly helped make some good draft picks to keep him afloat over the years.
