Guarantee that leafs collapse wrecks my Carolina Toronto Edmonton and Colorado parlay. I should've known to never bet on the f***ing Leafs

If I’m Michael Dal Colle I’m looking in the mirror and asking myself what I want to do with my life other than playing pro hockey.

As MDC progressed past his draft year I think it became fairly clear early on that he wouldn’t be an impact player. Despite that, he did make decent progress in the AHL to the point where as an NHL call up there was a reasonable hope that with time he could carve out a fourth line role.

Fast forward to last year when he was demoted back to the AHL and his production there was nearly 1/2 of what it was just a few years ago.

That last part I don’t get. Did he just lose his drive or was he relegated to a more minor role on the team last year? Either way I feel bad for the kid. Swing and a miss on that one Garth.

I said for years, there's no room for this kind of player in the NHL. What happens is maybe a team likes your personality, you find a coach with no Interest in shooting the puck anyway like trotz, and you get some NHL games in. But the job was always never going to last long because eventually the team gives that roster spot to the next 1st round pick who can hopefully become important. MDC was just never good at anything
If Martin or clutterbuck didn't throw hits they wouldn't be in this league. If ckikas couldn't skate well he wouldn't be In this league.

Oilers down 3-0 come back for 5-3 win. Had them to win overall, and to win in regulation. Also had Avs to win in regulation

Gotta love the NHL!

LET'S GO ISLES!

A terribly fun game to watch!

BTW, here's Philly's forward corps tonight. Damn, sure wish we were opening the season against them tonight!

Enjoyed the games last night.

Really gave me that NHL fever again.

Every time I see Caufield scoring, I keep thinking, "This is the guy we drafted Wahlstrom to be. But he's like two feet smaller. Why can't Wahly do this?"

Something about that USNTDP, righty shot, sniper connection.

had the same thoughts.

Question for someone that wants to know? Did anyone see Mcdavid and Kane pair up to score an empty netter last night? I wonder if that kinda grinds a guy like Barzal that he does not get these empty net opportunities. Stat padding really is not the objective here, but some food for thought. I'd wager many stars get freebies all year, it's not like they are defensive stalwarts as well. Ok, carry on, I'll go back to yelling at the clouds

I saw it. Kane very unselfishly gave the puck to McDavid. I can't stand Kane for a variety of reasons but kudos to him...
he could have easily scored that goal and gave it up so McDavid could add to his chapeau haberdashery.

Someone should let the Flyers know preseason is over and they can use NHL players now.

I seem to recall some guy lost a scoring title when his competitor got an empty-netter in the last game, and then he left first chance he got as a UFA. Name escapes me though....

In that situation, I feel like it's not necessarily always the norm + McDavid alone more than makes up for any defensive deficiencies.

However, more important was last night he was going for the hatty so he should have been out there - much like Barzal would've been

True about the situation but when you have some fleeting time this year check out some box scores especially empty netters.

Our 'friends' on the Leafs board are already throwing Murray under the bus, and the Senator fans are chiming along . . . Boy, would I love to have the better season and watch the shenanigans

Leafs Recap Quotes:

"Leafs would f***k up the lords prayer if they knew the words"

-----

"Real pissed we lost, but glad some of our cocky fans have come down to earth a bit tonight.
Now, back to kerfoot/Muzz/Holl bashing."

(Revisit the great offer for Pageau???)

-----

"So soft I can't believe it's not butter" (wasn't that a margarine commercial years ago?)

-----

"*Sigh* - 81 more tries to get it right.

These are ALL from just the first two pages of the 25 pages of a moan-fest . . .

Oh yeah, His name was... "the kid who didn't win the Art Ross trophy"

Regarding the Flyers... You know Scott Laughton will get 12 Goals this year and eight of them will be against the Isles. With one or two shorthanded nonetheless.
