What has happened to this kid?

He's reading too much of his press clipings. This kid is going to get hurt by someone. He's becoming a dirty player. I don't see him lasting in this league long.
I know there may be Isles bias here, but every game I watch him play Rempe seems to do soemething that has an intent to injure , with the announcers just blaming it on his size. Even with a small sample size, this kid is a dirty player now. He needs to adjust , this is not sustainable.

Just announced that Siegenthaler is out for the rest of the game. Curious what the league does already a repeat offender.

Yeah, the size thing only goes so far. If you're 6'8" and raise your elbow to connect with another guy's head, it's a suspension.

Yes, it turned Toronto into a very good team.
Lou took the team from 69-95-105. From there under Dumbo it stayed as a 100 point team. So…he inherited a team Lou built for him, which was part of Shanahan’s plan.

Just look at how Vegas spends their assets, goes deeper into the playoffs, wins, and runs circles around someone like Dubas.

My test is - do the elbows come up before or after contact? (Coming up after contact is very often a result of changes in momentum being different for torsos and limbs).

No place in the game for this. Once an enforcer becomes bigger than the protection he provides, targets shift to the players they're supposed to protect, and that doesn't work. Why take shots at the 6'8" guy when he's hardly ever on the ice?

It's snowballed into a sideshow act at this point. The fans expect something every night from him, especially if the other team has an enforcer. He's pretty much forced to fight and so does the opponent, that's not in the spirit of the reason why an enforcer is supposed to be out there. When the big dude who is supposed to be watching your back and be a good teammate is making an ass of himself every night having to drop the gloves like a circus monkey to only entertain the fans... it's sad. Did we not lionize that psycho Trevor Gillies in a similar in that brief period of time? This kid will flame out as quickly as he rose to notoriety.

I guess I haven't watched Ranger games enough this year... Are they getting their guys routinely plastered or targeted? Trevor Gillies was NYI's vengeful spirit on skates... (although Michael Haley was more effective in that role, lol) He was a response to Matt Cooke & Pascal Dupuis. (And, tbh, I don't think it would have happened without Cooke. Dupuis wasn't that kind of dirty.)

Has that kind of stuff been happening to the Rangers?

If I were to compare him to an Islander who was lionized and imo shouldn't have been, it's Steve Webb.

Nothing. He was much ado about nothing as an Islander. He got traded to the Devils and rarely played for them in the A. Not sure how much of this year’s setback was due to injuroes.

I wouldn't say "nothing".

He came in from juniors as an undersized player and then put up 8 points in 14 AHL games, 37 in 64, and then last season 55 in 68. Last season, he also got a 4-game audition and looked good as a possible lower line option. Was involved. Looked defensively responsible.

I mean, I know you've seen him more than most, but that was a pretty nice progression only to start off this season very poorly in BPort and then get traded twice.

My opinion on players looking for a 4th line role in the NHL is they need to have a motor. High drive. That's the difference between a guy like Hudson Fasching and Durandeau. I never got the sense that Durandeau could push through. Fasching does. When you're undersized like Durandeau is your legs have to be churning every shift.

Heeeeeeeeee’s Baaaaaaaack!

The line between what’s real and satire continues to become blurrier…

The album, called SAME, contains 18 songs, starting with a piece titled "It's Time to Grow Up."

This Rempe situation is getting out of hand. I hate Tom Wilson, but the guy can play the sport. This guy is a flat out tool. He plays 5 minutes a game, gets in a fight and targets opposing players. That is all he does. He needs to be suspended after last night.
But am I the only one concerned about this as it relates to the Isles? We play them 3 times in the last 15 games and then a very good chance we play them in the playoffs if we make it. Over the course of a best of 7 series, could you imagine if we are ahead by multiple goals near the end of any game. He surely would be targeting our top guys and I am not sure if we have anybody who can neutralize him, MAYBE Martin.
Imagine he takes out a guy like Barzy or Horvat or Dobson in the first game or two of a playoff series. Who cares if he gets suspended for 20 games. That does not hurt the Rags at all. I never thought I would say this but I almost feel like we should have looked into bringing back Johnston at the deadline.

Calm down. Rempe wouldn’t play in the playoffs. Can’t waste a spot for 5 mins a game, and can’t afford 5 min major penalties.

Detroit looking good eh?
It was inevitable the Yzerplan was gonna fall apart. They were essentially in that spot bc the Isles have dragged their own anchor most of the season.

And…for those going the Larkin route. Eh, the Isles lost Barzal and played BETTER w/o him and made the playoffs.

Debrincat has like 5 goals in 25 games and zero in the past six, so he’s not stepping up in the crunch.
