Maurice resigning was a rare situation and seemed more like a player issue, ie he’s reached a dead end with that crew and knew his standing in the league - he’ll get another gig.

DJ Smith getting another gig? Maybe not as a head coach.

Interesting move made by an interim GM. He probably doesn’t have the authority to fire the coach so instead he does this.

On the one hand, seems like an owner charity move - hey, look, here’s a guy people know from our past.

On the other, he’s really there to evaluate a transition, but also probably take over. DJ is the former GMs hire.

Some bad goaltending tonight and for that matter across the league this season.

Watched a little of the Dallas- Florida game and it wasn’t pretty.

The PIT GM had a top end RHD for the PP, so he went out and got another one rather than filling other holes.

Reminds me of the time that TOR GM had good Cs but still went out and got another one rather than filling other holes.

You would think the PIT GM would have seen what the TOR GM did and not done the same thing. :huh:

The Pens' biggest problems last year were goaltending and forward depth, especially grit in the bottom 6. Dubas signed Acciari, which I thought was a good move. But that was pretty much it to address the big problems. He simply couldn't resist the shiny toy.
