And now Perry released, press conference later this afternoon. Surely the Bedard mom rumors aren’t true, but not going away either.

With all the Blackhawks problems in the news as of late I really wouldn’t be surprised if this was just a rookie party gone wrong
That is my instinct too

Very curious about his termination. Not bad enough for the authorities to be involved but enough for the team to terminate the contract without any opposition.

It might’ve had something to do with the cleaning lady ala George Costanza.

Perry was heard saying “Had I known that was frowned upon…”

I feel bad for Beauvillier but not surprised. The slumps he goes through are too deep.

Probably good thing for him to be honest.

Hawks had little NHL talent to begin with on roster and losing Hall for year and the Perry situation they needed NHL top 9 winger

Could find his way up to playing with Bedard which could be good for his stats/play in FA year

With Hawks situation he is at least safe bet to get consistent top 9 minutes most likely top 6

…And then dumped a junk anchor contract on NYI for two playoff wins: Confirmed.

They also swapped the first for Hronek who has been great for them…
Well, keep waiting for Panarin, Johnny Trademark, and the DeBrincats to want to play for you and maybe things will get better. Instead you have pay $9M figure skaters that have ‘talent.’

figure skater has more points than your wonder boy Tkachuk btw at this moment and equivalent playoff points in their careers. Might want to compare how many playoff wins each guy was part of too. MT had a heck of a run last year and was a major contributor to it. #13 will get his time again at the big dance. I'm sure you will be around. In the meantime, sucks losing at this current time. We can all agree

and if I may add, figure skater is playing a brand new position he never played before and is still outpacing MT. Kinda learning on the fly too eh?

I don't think so:

"Davidson said the team was first notified of the allegations last week when the Blackhawks were in Columbus, Ohio, on Wednesday to play the Blue Jackets. Sources told ESPN's Emily Kaplan that Perry indeed traveled with the team to Columbus last Tuesday, a day before the game, and an incident occurred that day involving a team employee.:"

It would be deceptive, I think, for the word 'employee' to refer to a player. Could be many things, but given the reaction it seems likely to me that he tried to abuse his position with a team employee. Some kind of harassment comes to mind, and I hope that it is not worse than that (for the sake of the employee).

Don't know that there's no opposition yet (Perry could file a grievance). But the notion that law enforcement would have to be involved in order for a contract to be cancelled is imo bizarre, especially when there were (from several reports) multiple witnesses to his behavior within an organizational context. Even if a crime was committed, the organization is not constrained from acting even if an employee does not want to file criminal charges.

The fact that his former teammates are towing the line, being quiet, and not making waves tells me that they don't want Perry's behavior to affect their reputations. This sounds to me like a grizzled vet who didn't read the room/change with the times. And it's true that a guy like him near the end of the road is not going to be given consideration for a second chance that an organizational asset probably would be given. And one would think that he'd know that.

So far we haven't heard of anything from Perry's camp as far as I read and don't they usually announce that they'll file a grievance by this point? I didn't say that law enforcement would have to be involved in order to cancel the contract, it's just interesting because it narrows the scope of what he could've done. I haven't seen any reports about witnesses to any kind of behavior so that's new to me. Any links you happen to remember so I can read it?

I imagine he acted inappropriately in some way but to whom, how, when, and why are all questions I still have.

Hawks fans on the main board (and on their board) are noting that there's good information that several other players were present.

That whatever happened was in public narrows the scope somewhat, but the lack of criminal charges doesn't narrow the scope much further.

It is very easy to imagine hypothetically if someone were groped the victim not wanting to get involved in a criminal process, especially if her employer handled the situation properly.

We may never find out, especially if Perry doesn't file a grievance. But I doubt it can be too much of a secret, considering that it was at an event,.

Thank you, I'll take a look at it later.
