News: Wild fire their head coach, and islanders not up next for wild.

Wow! That’s a horrible look. Very surprised by the ruling based on how that appears.
@Crashsunday

I was going to post the same thing with one minor tweak.

Yeah, I guess I still expect some sort of common sense decency to prevail especially with that type of swing. That’s literal “battery” anywhere else.

It’s f•••ing embarrassing honestly.

Different rules for different teams.
Absolutely. We've seen our guys suspended for fairly innocuous collisions. See Ross Johnston.
Trouba has attacked someone viciously with a weapon and could have caused serious damage.
And you can't argue that's even remotely in the play.
It's assault.

What about some highlights of the other 99.1% of the time he’s on the ice?
He has been one of our most effective forwards this season which is why he stuck with the team at 18 instead of being sent back to juniors (which is extremely rare for a non top 3 pick).

Listening to NHL radio this morning. Leafs have 5 wins in regulation to date. How is that possible?

Funny how "experts" look at these teams and then have to walk back projections. Leafs are still the Leafs. I don't hear anyone touting the Sens or Sabres today as surprise playoff teams. Based on the clear lack of NHL goaltending, it would be a surprise if they made it. But it was that way in August. Is it the case for the Devils? I thought Smid looked good at the end of last season. Maybe they deceived themselves into thinking he could do more. Just thinking about it.

I think that is the case for the Devils. Their goaltending isn't good. Same problem as last season. It's the main thing that keeps them from being a threat to go deep in the playoffs.

They spent so much on improving an already potent offense. Could they have overpayed in trade or UFA for something better?

First problem was identifying Vitek Vanecek as a number 1 goalie last year. Akira Schmid is better than him but still not good enough. The same thing before this when they were juggling Mackenzie Blackwood, Jonathan Bernier, and a cast of thousands.

The Devils last solid NHL goaltender was Corey Schneider before he got hurt.

And now Schneider is ours, in the booth.

Another example of Lou winning!

Teams got a little giddy that the all out offense that covered glaring defensive mistakes was the new new nhl. Seems like that’s not the case and goaltending and defense matter.

Not 1995 matter, but the all out score at all costs seems to have tempered down because there’s no success to it - Vegas won with rolling four lines and adequate, but strong goalie.

The issue is there are no top tier goalies available. IMO, the Devils move for Meier was unnecessary. They traded junk, maybe SJ was the only taker of their junk (like the Ryan Smith trade).

Speaking of Schneider, I am surprised he wasn't able to get a league min contract to the Devils. His AHL numbers were good..I guess NJ's goaltending didn't fall apart until this season..BUT that might be due to defensive gaffs which go unnoticed because of the highly talented backend.

And now Perry released, press conference later this afternoon. Surely the Bedard mom rumors aren’t true, but not going away either.

With all the Blackhawks problems in the news as of late I really wouldn’t be surprised if this was just a rookie party gone wrong
