is that good?

Doesn’t look generational with those numbers. Is that right now or what they project him to be?
I think Lafreniere and Hughes (Jack) are similar tier prospects - and whether you want to argue Jack isnt doesnt matter, Im simply stating it to make the following point:

They're not generational but franchise-changing. Below the McDavid/Crosby/Ovechkin/Malkin tier and more in the Matthews/Kane/Kucherov/Eichel tier

Skating is important. But people are fixated on straight-ahead speed and not nearly enough on agility, deceptiveness, and how difficult someone is to contain.
I am still 50/50 on the "Ottawa, what'll you offer me?" train, because I like Byfield, Stültze, and Sanderson a ton...

But based on my limited viewings, Lafrenière has some Gretzky to him in terms of not blowing the doors off anyone, but incredible in slipping in and around people.

He strikes me as one of those borderline psychopath level competitive guys
I didn't know this about him but...

I wonder if winning the lottery impact what we do with the Carolina pick at all especially if Carolina loses. If that happens the pick will be probably around 21-22 which is a decent spot in a deep draft. Maybe we package that with other pieces? Although I’m not a big fan of trading first rounders either unless it’s a no brained

I would agree with that, I'd put him in the Matthews/Kane tier.

In fact, Lafreniere's end-result could look eerily similar to Kane's. They are different players, who would arrive at their destination by different means. But Lafreniere's stat line and results could look very, very similar.

Question.. And I'll assume he is but is Lafreniere ready for the big game?

Will he slot into next year's lineup right away?

Will DQ start him on the 4th line?

Kidding on the last part..Well kinda lol

Don't even joke like that. You know Quinn is playing with the McKegg, PDG, and Howden line combos tonight.

In fairness, if the conversation takes place, it'll be initiated on Ottawa's end.

There was grumbling over the last few weeks that whoever won the lottery should expect a call from The Sens and that they would be aggressive in their offers.

Now, what does aggressive mean? That's somewhat unknown. But I would be shocked if these two teams didn't at least chat. There's history there. There's a reason to talk. And there's too many people commenting about Ottawa's potential mindset for it not to be a thing.

I personally think Lafreniere will play more like Matthews while Jack is a Kane (in terms of their playstyles), but all their ceilings being relative were talking insane talents with top-5 player of that season potential each year when theyre finally cookin with gas. Art Ross candidates in the future is how I see them

Sorry but honestly.. He's gonna get a sniff on the top line then ends up on the 3rd..
DQ is a #clownsauce
