Rangers need toughness would anyone trade the 1st overall for Ryan Reaves. I think that is fair trade on both sides. We need a tough guy for our young talent. !st overall for Ryan Reaves. we might have to throw in a prospect as well though.
I am only joking of course
Whats the joke? Seems like a fair trade to me

I just can't believe we won 1st overall. When the ball flew up and the camera zoomed in, i thought it was Winnipeg for a split second but then i saw the blue Rangers logo and i just froze and almost shit myself.

The second it zoomed in I saw our sideways logo. About 0.5 seconds of disbelief and processing. Then euphoria. I didn't even see them pull the ball out and announce it. I was running around all over the place.

I get the sour taste left in people's mouths as a result of the Canes series.

But short of a miracle Cup victory, can you honestly think of a better ending to this season?

Our guys got a taste of playoff hockey. We have the top pick in the draft. We have another pick that will fall between 20-31.

If I laid that out to the board in October, would any one reasonably fixate on how shitty the Canes series was?

No, we'd be over the moon!

Honestly it’s kinda ideal

all the guys have a sour taste in their mouths after that embarrassing playoff series. We’ll be adding a top flight young talent, and Kakko/Fox/Igor etc will all be a year older.

We’re shaping up to have a helluva team NEXT season, let alone when Laf/Kakko hit their prime.

I want this team pissed off.

I want them motivated.

I don't want management getting ahead of itself.

And I want Lafreniere coming into that melting pot.

Skating is important. But people are fixated on straight-ahead speed and not nearly enough on agility, deceptiveness, and how difficult someone is to contain.
Agreed, but he does look a lot more explosive than Kakko and looks dangerous on the rush, whereas Kakko wasn’t that great at zone entries and looks a lot better on the cycle

OH BABY, BABY, BABY!!!

We are gonna be such a great team for years to come. This is just incredible. I don't know why, but something told me the Hockey Gods would be smiling down on the Rangers. I just had a feeling we would land him. JD must be kicking himself saying Oh Baby, may I please have another.

LA fan here in peace, who has been analyzing the top eight for the last two months.

For all the Ranger fans asking how he compares to Kakko...he doesn’t.

He’s very close to Auston Matthews as a winger. Physically talented, polished, and all the drive you could wish for.
Please take Staal off our hands, as a form of payback for stabbing us in the gut 6 years ago.

You know, lost in some of this is the possibility that Lafreniere could be the zone entry guy that unleashes Kakko and/or takes the playmaking out of Chytil's hands.

Again, Lefreniere is a hell of a player. But when we talk about a guy who can potentially impact a roster, that would be a hell of a side effect.

Question.. And I'll assume he is but is Lafreniere ready for the big game?

Will he slot into next year's lineup right away?

Will DQ start him on the 4th line?

Kidding on the last part..Well kinda lol

Reread the Cherepanov rule and there's a clause that says if your former 7OA pick goes AWOL and boards a plane and leaves the country without consulting the team, you get the 1OA pick for free.
