Dude, as clearly explained, I wanted Boo to get a legit shot playing w/Zib + Kreider, which he was denied.

A shot with those guys was given to Lias who didn't deserve it.

Boo could STILL function as a facilitator pivot betw. Kreider + Zib.
That is NOW moot b'c the inevitable upgrade has now happened, and Kreider-Zib-LaF should be a thing.

Lias still can't effin skate.

So stand down.
And yes, on this one, I was right and Ranger management was wrong.

Anyhoo, hopefully they learned their lesson and get that Fogarty, DiG, etc are not good enough 4th liners as was proven by this last playoff round, and Nieves returns as a 4th liner.

i can see him in the Ovechkin role. Not that that he’s Ovechkin but i can see Panarin firing away from the circle. With Lafreniere, Kakko and Fox, he can do that. What an amazing day.

Agreed. I get accused of being a Kreider lover/apologist lol. To be honest I’ve been very fair since we drafted him. He isn’t a great player but he has been a very good player for us for 8 years. Fans get angry that he isn’t non stop dominant but he wasn’t a top overall pick or even top 5 pick. For where we picked him he has been great value. I do think he overthinks sometimes but that’s not about being lazy like many people accuse him of. He also has become a great leader to the kids. But like I said the contract is t terrible and we can trade him half way through if we choose

His pay isn't commensurate with his effort. I will give him credit for trying to lift the team up to start the 3rd game but I would have liked to see that in game 1.

Well, here's a bit of a rub...you're likely adding the best player in the upcoming draft who likely starts his clock next season. The clock is not just ticking, but, humming. You need to take advantage of the multitude of ELCs on this team.

I can definitely see that angle of it as well. The big question mark is whether or not Kakko can take a big step forward next year. If he and Lafreniere can both chip in 50-60 points, then maybe that's when the team pulls the trigger mid-season on a big addition. You could try and preemptively make that move but you also don't want to handcuff yourself. It's a fine line to walk.

Ok so stay the course with the kids but NOW is the time to be bold with the meat on this team.

I don't know if they can afford Fast and time to dangle Buch/Strome.

Time to redo the bottom six. Bring in at least 2/3 of Sheary/Nieto for speed and Girgumsons as a reclamation project. Sheary is a must. I want a Cup winner glued to this squad.

I read a comparison that said Lafreniere is like Lecavalier in terms of style, is that true? But I also read that he's more of a playmaker than a goal scorer while I think of Lecavalier in his prime as more of a goal scorer so I don't know what to believe. Also saw Jamie Benn/Taylor Hall hybrid.

How much do you think Sheary would ask for? he wouldn't be a terrible third liner with some great experience playing alongside Crosby.
