Great day in Ranger land. The Rangers are getting a savior after building a very good core around him. This is the type of acquisition that will help the Rangers open their window and contend right away.

The great thing about him is that you are getting the total package. IMO he's a playmaker, and he's in the mold of a Patrick Kane in how he can attack the net off the rush, off the cycle, and create offense from any angle. He hits, he competes, he's a high character guy who wants to win.

There isn't a whole lot more about you can say other than he's a can't miss player.

I see a consistent 30-50 guy.

No reason to move Kravtsov.
Not his fault we stupidly did not move that POS Namest earlier, and not his fault we gave that effin ingrate Lias every opportunity including playing w/Kreider and Zib, when clearly, I am now proven correct we should have given that opportunity to Krav and Boo.

Buch - Strome - Deangelo are not long term here, move asap for good market value, not even a killing. Get ahead of the effin curve on the exp drft

Dude we had 30 players on the available playoff roster and Boo wasn't on it

You were not proven correct, how do you figure you were?

That one is a little harder, I don't love the guy, I think he's getting a little too much money, but I think he fills more of a role on this team and will for the next few years. And I think he was one of the only players that showed well during the play-in round and he's still young enough that he can improve his play over a full regular season

he’s probably the best overall but his cost is a ton for 5 more years.

End of 2022/23, Zibby, Kakko and Fox get raises and we might not have the cap rise for two more years

Wow so dark on such a bright day
Look at the rosters of champion teams. We are nowhere near that level. Tampa, Carolina, Toronto, Colorado, Edmonton alone are better positioned than we are as of now. A lot of things would need to go our way to win the whole thing.

The inevitable decline of Kreider and Panarin, if still four years away, will have financial repercussions that may impact our ability to ice a deep, talented team.

#7OA a flop? No problem!
Good point. I understand the Lias pick was a disaster. The thing we hoped most for in the kid he had the least amount of. His skating was horrid but overall JG and company had the balls to trade some guys like Zucc (who in the end may pay off in a terrific big dman), Nash and Hayes.

We watched him play center in the WJC, he did a fine job, but he wasn't as good as he is when he plays wing. I don't want to hamper a players effectiveness for potentially years because this team has holes elsewhere

I respect that, but if he did a fine job at that level of talent competition, it is not unreasonable to think he could -- not guaranteed, but certainly could -- succeed there.

don't overlook
He has skills to be C.
superior skater, superior vision, excellent passing.

way I see it:
Kakko-Krav-Panarin
Kreider-Zib-LaF

first option, trade
Buch-Deangleo + CAR 2020 1st
for
Nylander + 2021 TOR 1st

that means
Howden-Chytil-Nylander
Lemieux-Nieves-Gauthier
Gettinger 13, Baron when he's ready

alt deal Deangelo + Strome to FL for picks
Geo + for DET 2nd

deal Strome, Geo
