don't get me wrong I'm thrilled we got Lafreniere, but I can't help but think the league is rigging this thing. Last year it was us and Blackhawks who jumped up big (two big market teams) and now this year we get the 1st overall.

Well if they are they are making up for lost time. We have always had terrible luck with the draft lottery until last year and this year.

They've been through 3 of them since the letter went out (and these were the only years where they were eligible) and they've moved up in 2 of them.

Under the old format, we were too busy contending/star chasing/dreaded middling to ever have a shot.

This is why we started the great sell off in 2018. Kakko and Lafreniere is a hell of a duo to ice behind (and eventually ahead of) Zibanejad and Panarin.

Get Cirelli, sign Girgensons. Add another big body and a LD and lets go f*** this league up next year.

Yes I'd want a 2C that's better defensively than Strome. I'm saying you don't have to have a guy who is a star and can carry the line by himself as your 2C if he has good wingers working with him. The Rangers don't have to have a "Crosby and Malkin!" type of 1-2 punch down the middle if they have a bunch of absurdly talented wingers to carry the offensive load and Mikka leading the way as 1C

I think Chytil will be fine as a 3C at least and it shouldn't be hard to find a guy to fill the 4C role as a defensive player if the team pulls its head out of its ass.

Ideally..I'm hoping Chytil rounds out as a solid #2C but time will tell.
In the mean time, I'd settle for an effective #4C at this point.
