I've brought this up before.

There are 2 reasons why Panarin didn't finish the season with 100+ points.

- Kreider shot like -12912129% on the PP.
- He had to play with Kravtsov for a decent chunk of the season.

Since the removal of the Traktor tumor, he's been pretty elite.

The rangers came in last season with no playoff experience except for maybe Kreider and Panarin and made it all the way to game 6 of the conference finals. I think too many here put too much stock in playoff experience.

We almost lost to a Penguins team that just wasn't nearly as good as we were. It took time for us to get our sea legs.

This is our first series against the Devils since I’ve been a fan, but watching old footage of Rangers vs Devils man I wish we had a true Avery type agitator. Like a Brendan Lemieux. I hope there’s hatred in this series but I do think our roster makeup is a bit vanilla personality wise and I don’t know how much they’ll try to get under the Devils skin

Trocheck and Goodrow are very underrated rats/shit disturbers.

Vatrano, Strome, copp wasn't small but also not a physical presence. Too much emphasis being placed on size is dumb anyway.

doesn't matter. didn't matter for us against the most experienced playoff team in creation when they were up 3-1 in the series last year either. Meier is built for the playoffs and he's going to be a huge pain in the ass. he can score and drive play and he's going to abuse our defensemen as well.

The Penguins dominated the Rangers all series. It wasn't particularly close. I'd prefer not to harken back on last seasons playoff performance because while it was fun it was a total fluke.

I'm willing to bet that every coach in the league would much rather game plan for the Devils than the Rangers. You guys aren't giving this team enough credit, warts and all. 12 deep up front, 4 or 5 high-quality defenseman, including one of the best in the league, and a monster in net. If they lose it's because they beat themselves.

Not sure i'd call that small. not a big guy but I dont think 5'11 is small. Hughes is 5"10 (maybe) and thin.
Laf is actually the smallest guy on the kid line at 6'0

Avery was actually good at hockey when he wanted to be good at hockey. The trolling element in 2008 just made it that much better, he completely clowned on them both by being productive and doing all of the side show stuff.

Pittsburgh gave us a far harder time than they should have and they lost their captain for a few games.

Experience is hugely important.

Id take that bet - most coaches place a ton of weight on experience, size, physicality and goaltending, all of which are advantages for the rangers.
