He needs to. Don't let there be any doubt. Come out and completely slam the door shut.

I pray they can get it done, but being a Rangers fan my whole life, I'm significantly leaning towards them blowing it.

I'm not usually a doom and gloom poster, actually never since I've been posting here, or even since the 05 lockout. I've been pretty positive about the team building towards something. However, my instinct is taking over. I can see MTL coming in and getting two stoppable goals vs Hank and winning 2-1 on Thursday and then going back home on Saturday and beating us. I can picture it and it makes me want to throw up.

You sound like a true ranger fan.

You guys have no faith.

I'm so excited for game 6. I'm pretty sure James Dolan is excited for game 6 too and is hoping to clinch the conference after first selling out the garden one extra time before the Finals. (My own conspiracy theory).

Stepan is back and scored two goals, Brassard is back and who really cares about Carcillo? Plus their goalie has made some good saves but he's still a rookie and it shows. Certainly no Hank.

I think the Rangers are getting tired. I hope they get a good night's sleep and eat their kale.

Go Rangers!

Well, I think the one thing was about strictly 3-1 deficits.

My apologies, I'm not grasping the difference here. Was Toronto not down 3-1 after game four? Detroit had 3 wins, Toronto had 1. I'm not sure what else to label that other than 3-1 in favor of Detroit.

“@NHLPlayerSafety: Rangers defenseman John Moore will have a hearing Wednesday for an Illegal Check to the Head of Montreal forward Dale Weise.â€

Henrik Lundqvist

Cam Talbot

GA: 2 SV%: .750

Dustin Tokarski

GA: 4 SV%: .852

I am very encouraged that the rangers only gave up 8 shots the last 30 minutes.

What would this board be saying in 94 when the rangers were down 3 to 2 against the devils or lost a 3 to 1 series lead against Vancouver.

Not sure how I would handle it. My whole adult life I've been very level headed about the Rangers (I'm 24) and always felt they were building towards something and Henrik would have a special playoff run. I feel this is the chance (other teams in the Metropolitan are only going to get better) and I don't want them to blow it. I was 4 in '94 and if that were now I'm pretty sure I would've had an aneurysm.

In my defense, my formative years as a Rangers fan were during the dark ages. I was obsessed and watched every single game and always held out hope they'd make the playoffs and they'd ALWAYS miss. I'm predetermined to expect heartbreak. (I know it doesn't compare to 54 years so don't even mention it, I'm just talking in my life)

I am, through and through. I just can't ever shake the negativity. Until I see the Rangers lift the cup, whenever that may be, I will always have a predisposition towards negativity.

You're right, but I think the question was "Has a team come from 3-1 down in the CONFERENCE finals"

Prust should have got a lot more than 2 games. We'll see what Moore gets.

Fact that Stepan came back is immaterial. Broken jaw on a borderline deliberate attempt to injure.

Rangers were extraordinarily loose this game defensively, Lundqvist was awful, Talbot not much better, and they were chasing the Canadiens all night. But anyone who says the league doesn't want the Canadiens to win is wrong. Eight to three power plays in Game 4? With Montreal diving all over the place, too many men on the ice, stick fouls, etc.

I agree about the defense. I watched Staal over on the half-boards, forget which goal, moving at a zombie pace. Everything was a half-step behind.
Refs missing Prust's major, but calling one on Moore. Yeah I know it sucks.

I just hope the Rangers put this one out of their heads. For me, it was the ugliest game by the Rangers in quite some time.

We will take care of business in Game 6. We responded well after a tough Game 3 loss with a win in Game 4. I absolutely believe we will do the same on Thursday night. Montreal is a feisty team, but very very beatable. Our defense will tighten up and Henrik will be looking to make up for an off-night.

My bad then. I don't honestly remember the exact question or my initial answer at this point... more agitated with the loss tonight

You look at that and laugh, I look at that and say that's bad ****ing karma and shows where the focus of some of our players was tonight. ******** and shenanigans - not winning.

What an idiot. There's no room for that on teams that are serious about winning a cup. No room.

I have to agree with this.

U get revenge or whatever by ur play... Not the stupid petty bs this series has been all too full of. Unfortunately that goes for both sides.

Pathetic. Sideshow.

Like wrestling. Straight up embarrassing

While it was exciting, this was a terrible hockey game by both sides. I hope they win Thursday too, and I'm not convinced they can't win Saturday either.

You just knew Montreal was going to come out desperate. We needed to get past the first ten minutes tied, then take over. Didn't happen, then after we get a gift from them, Lundqvist gives it right back.

Still, I watched LA-Chicago last night. Right now, Kings look almost unbeatable and by far the best team. Cicago looks slow by comparison (and I never loved Crawford - he's just OK, not elite). I don't think Montreal stands much of a chance against them, Rangers have a better shot (Staal and Girardi won't look as bad, as LA is bigger and physical, not speedy for the most part).

On another note, anyone think about where we'd be with Del Zotto instead of Klein - I know people here dislike Sather, but he has pulled off some great trades.

Oh well, kid is dumb. Diaz is a better player IMO anyway.

Diaz can skate, and if he can take Girardi off the power play, so much the better. I do like Girardi, but he's lost in a speed game like these, and he's godawful on the power play. Handles the puck like a live grenade, and afraid to shoot.

He also misses the net whenever he does shoot.

Honestly, sit Dorsett for Fast. Can't risk him blowing up in what is already a very heated series. It only helps the Habs. That's how they beat teams. They live off of all the mind games, melodrama and false self-righteousness.

Just play hockey. That's all they gotta do.

Not sure if anyone touched on it but the Brassard line was especially terrible tonight. Pouliot hasn't done anything since the first game of the Penguins series besides take dumb penalties. Disheartening, because I really like Pouliot.

I think Thursday will be a better performance, but if they lose, I don't see them winning game 7.

far and away, that is fine with me. Klein-Diaz needs to happen, and needs to get 2nd pairing minutes. Staal needs to take a back seat, because I am sick of watching his lack luster D against these MTL forwards. For Gods Sake, Kevin Klein, who has 9 points this year, has been our best defenseman, with the best +/-, the least penalty minutes, and in the past few games, has shown to be the most reliable.

BUT, Staal could also just being going through a slight slump, in which case I'm not for tearing him to pieces, but he needs to get less minutes

At least he ****ing shoots it to begin with. The Power Play looks too pretty because everyone wants the grade A scoring chance. I like that Diaz likes to take a one timer and fire it away. Every one of those shots has the ability to make a dent in the PK's ability to kill the penalty. The more, the better

Klein has been great, deserves 2nd pairing minutes - I'm probably one of the few who think the trade for him was a steal. But McD has been stepping up to the plate -he's constantly initiating on offense despite being concentrated on by the Canadiens, and he has had to cover for Girardi half the time. He wasn't great against Pitt due to his injury, but he's all the way back.

Klein has been pretty awesome, he just needs to break through with all these chances hes getting. I think a suspension is a blessing in disguise for us because I feel like Diaz could be a difference maker, especially playing against his old squad.

I was actually pleasantly surprised by John Moore's play after much doubt not that long before the playoffs started.
Being a person who really enjoys the physical game, I look and see some punishing hits from him, and I appreciate them because I do not see him going way out of position to deliver them.
I still feel he is okay, but I also like Diaz. Depth is a wonderful thing to have. I will say that I want to see Diaz on the point on the powerplay. I want to see him send some slappers, as it could be a great antidote to the 'hold-the-puck-itis' affliction that descends upon the powerplay without warning, like it did earlier in the game tonight.
