Its not that he slipped for christs sake. How cant you two see that he had time to either GET UP, OR throw the puck BACK around behind the net... where NO KINGS were, let alone up to where THREE kings were?

That you, Mrs. Girardi?

Yup and clearly LA was playing in Antarctica and the Rangers were in LA.

It's not the ice itself.

It's the fact that the team wasn't prepared for it, which I blame them for.

LA didn't do any stupid little passes. They carried the puck and went to the net, because on this ice, they'll get the crazy bounces sending them all the way through sometimes.

What's so disenheartening about this loss is 1/3rd of our D core just can't do anything right anymore.

Staal and Girardi are just........there's no words. Moreso Staal, though.

We can't beat this team with those two playing so ****ing bad.

Kings getting the bounces as usual.. That has been their whole playoffs pretty much..

You earn bounces, like the Rangers earned their bounce on the 2nd goal with the puck hitting off the defenseman's skate and in. Good teams get bounces and make them count more often than not.

Also not getting the bad ice argument. Rangers play at MSG, they should be prepared for bad ice by now.

That was supposed to be the one we stole. Whatever. We've bounced back from much worse losses. I have confidence they will come out strong for game 2. You're never truly in trouble until you lose on home ice.

Yes, suggesting McDonagh plays 40 minutes a game was sarcastic.

Staal being invisible would be a plus at this point. He's been ****ing garbage. Seriously playing like a complete idiot.

Positives:

- PK was great
- McDonagh
- Benny Poos' shot troubles Quick
- Hagelin

If this team continues trying to force passes across the slot against the KINGS, I'm going to have an aneurysm.

It wasn't just one play.
It rarely is.

Great effort by the Rangers overall. As someone said, they can hang with the Kings, which I never doubted.
The guys need to just do what they did in the first period. Don't second-guess that strategy but concentrate on executing better.
The clear advantage they had over the Kings was not some mirage, it was real.
Get it back.

What you state is a plausible argument, however, Girardi had another option. He chose to pass the puck forward when he was unstable and falling. That cannot really be ignored, either.

Oh, I'm not saying Dan G was completely blameless. But its McD who abandons his man. McD is the main culprit.

Look, at the end of the day, I'm not mad at either of those guys. Staal was the only D man that deserves a tongue lashing. His piss poor play directly meant that McD and Dan G had to pick up the slack.

The real culprits to this game was the play of our forwards. Specifically our centers Step/Richards. Nash could also get a lecture about shooting instead of over handling the puck.

I think we will be fine. Their top forwards did absolutely nothing. Gaborik and Kopitar invisible. Brown/Richards invisible. Carter did a little bit with that one wraparound chance but other than that not much. We obviously won't control play throughout this like we did in the first and they won't like they did in the third. Gotta stop with the stupid turnovers and Lundqvist has to be better (he was good, not great tonight).

What worries me is that despite their top scorers being invisible, they still won. Then again, we GAVE them this win. It was ours to grab.

40 saves.

Has to be better....

Ok.

#hflogic.

There's nothing wrong with saying he needs to be better.

He sure as hell wasn't the reason we lost today, but he really didn't make any spectacular saves today. Having that first one would've changed the complexion of the game going into the locker room still up 2-0.

The Kings were just outhustling the Rangers in the 3rd, not because they're not some dominant machine.

The Kings were sloppy tonight. They won, but by no means we're they intimidating.

It is not too much to expect a veteran guy making $5MM to be able to skate backwards without falling down. There was an ENTIRE ZONE to pass the puck to.....2 corners, behind the net.......... and he threw it into 3 black jerseys. Getting beaten by a better team is one thing....pissing away a game in the finals is quite another. Perhaps this will be a short series after all.

Nash has to be better. We've all been saying this the entire playoff run here. He's been solid defensively, but terrible offensively. Unfortunately, I think it has come to the point where we know he won't start putting the puck in the net and being "the guy" as we all hoped he'd be.

Oh, I'm not saying Dan G was completely blameless. But its McD who abandons his man. McD is the main culprit.

Look, at the end of the day, I'm not made at either of those guys. Staal was the only D man that deserves a tongue lashing. His piss poor play directly meant that McD and Dan G had to pick up the slack.

No. He. Isn't.

He went up the ice to accept a pass. All Girardi had to do was clear the zone, with no King within 20 feet of him.

He literally did EXACTLY what you don't do. Tried to thread the needle and passed it directly to Pearson (I think) who wasn't even close.

AV should juggle the lines..hell Sutter was juggling in the first period...maybe switch Nash with Hagelin...just keep the fourth line the way it is

What worries me is that despite their top scorers being invisible, they still won. Then again, we GAVE them this win. It was ours to grab.

Rangers dominated the first. Could have been up 3-0 easily. Then the Kings methodically took the game over and played their system to a T. I think the Rangers let the kings off the hook. Now the kings are acclimated with the Rangers for game 2.
