I think Mika can find good form again. Getting a full season out of him is probably a pipe dream though. He doesn't just come back from injury ready to go again, he has a resetting process.

he's played almost 400 NHL games and is in his age 25 season now. I don't know what people are expecting him to be.

Love hearing from players, coaching staff , Announcers etc how important the next game is , this team isn’t doing s**t in the playoffs

I think if he's healthy he's a 60 point player, 40-45 of which will be on the powerplay. He's very good defensively, but he's terrible at even strength scoring.

That's what I expect.

How many games has this lump of **** team played now? 44?

They're like 8-36 with Dunham in goal.

Sure lets make it 0-44.
You compared 6 years of miserable embarrassing Non playoff (high spending) hockey to a very bad stretch of games. I'm not sure how one could do that but to each their own

This team hopefully isn't making the playoffs so AV will be gone.

And if Ruff takes over, so help me god, I will not watch a single game.

It's been a stretch of over 200 games.

This team is f***ing horrendous.

Besides allowing a lot of entries, what is your evidence that this is true and done purposefully?
One of the best players in the league at denying zone entries is in the pressbox and hasn’t been efficient at the one thing he does well that makes him a legitimate top 4 dman. So did Smith just suck this season or did he fall in line with the rest of the team and follow coaches orders to not pressure opponents entering our zone?

Thats what everyone was saying when we beat the mighty Canadiens last year in 6? Anyway, i digress this team isn't even close to the the black whole that the 98-04 team was but i guess we've detoured from that.
You know whats funny tho this team will wind up making the playoffs for what the 8th straight year?

I'm willing to give Mika even more time to get better 5 on 5. Hope we display that kind of patience with Hayes as well. Hes a whipping boy on here.

They got destroyed in that series and Hank stood on his head.

Same shit, different day.

Huh??

There's been one player in the league over the last 4 years to even eclipse 40 PPP once, Nick Backstrom. You think Zibby is as good on the PP as Crosby/Kane/Backstrom/ etc.

The default response to any success this team has had over the last 5 years. I can see how Talbot is leading the Oilers to success this year. The great Claude and his system should have been able to overcome that anyway tho. I mean thats all i read about before the series.

Smith also steps up at bad times to allow high dangerous entries into the zone. And besides that one component of stepping up, he's a very suspect as a top4D in this league.

Denying the zone isn't just defensemen, it's a team defense thing. You need forwards on the backcheck for support in case you miss, and they need good backpresure so you can keep a tight gap. The team defense as a whole is jsut really messed up.

Not to mention, once the opponent gets the puck in our zone, the coverages are absolutely horrid, inclduing forwards.

They weren't bad in 14-15. 15-16 is when the bottom 5 in shot differential bullshit started.

And besides, the average save percentage on high-danger chances is .870-.880. In 2014-15 Talbot posted a .910 on high-danger chances. Sure, let's give the rest of the team credit for that.

And yet they would have made the stanley cup finals if they weren't playing with 3 healthy dmen (no zuke) in the ECF. For a horrible team thats amazing smoke and mirrors.

Mika is heating up? He has been awful the last two games. Just because he tipped one in on the pp doesn’t mean he is heating up!
Well, point wise at least, and I don't think he was awful these last 2 games, comparing to the rest of the team, he has been godlike.

You're arguing about 14-15 again. Like I just said, this has nothing to do with 14-15.
