TH definitely plays with his heart on his sleeve which isn’t a Howell thing, I was more comparing their toughness, ability to extend plays, willingness to take risks, and mobility outside of the pocket.

I think you’re selling TH a bit short on his ability to read defenses. His pocket presence wasn’t great but his college coach said he was the only QB he’s ever coached who could progress through five reads on the same play. And the knock on him wasn’t that he didn’t know where to go with the ball… it was that he didn’t have the arm strength to get it there too frequently.

Howell owns the record book at UNC and was a 1st round pick heading into his final year in college. There’s certainly a lot of talent and raw ability there. Sure would be nice if after 30 years roaming the QB desert we find an oasis in the form of a 5th round pick. I’m still much more concerned about the OL heading into the season than I am Howell.

I'm not saying TH sucks at reading defenses. Maybe that's not the exact way to express this. Howell gets the ball out much more quickly, even with what appears to be better protection so far, imo.

So maybe DECIDES what to do with the ball is the thing.

Josh Harris is awkward and cringeworthy but in the best way. You can tell he’s genuinely trying to do something he’s not totally comfortable with (doing all this PR work) even if it’s at the expense of his personal preferences. He could easily say f*** it and delegate any speaking opportunities but he’s there trying to be a man of the people and I’m here for it.

I also loved watching his nerd brain in action on that handshake.

*Brain* “Is that a hand outstretched?”
*Brain* If hand is outstretched, proceed to option 1 on flow chart, “extend hand, commence handshake”
*option 1 = true, handshake command > execute

*Josh* “Damnit brain.”
*Brain* “Compute error, proceed to emergency protocol: place hands on hips and look ‘relaxed’ > execute
*Troy Aikman* laughs, internal dialogue = “what a f***ing square this guy is.”

This is f***ing hilarious ... thank you man

My personal fantasy is someone mentioned to Slye "Wreck it." before the kick.

Dude .. we should do a HF caps fantasy football thing. We got like 8 or solid contributors here.

Anyone .. anyone?

Harris was hilariously awkward with the announcers but loved seeing him there, when's the last time Snyder did something like that

Had to quote for lol.

Bolded I'm fine with bullets with this subpar offensive line.

THIS! Feels kinda ridiculous that even with stripped down pre-season play calling that it really looks better.

Also on the OP SEC side EB really needs to not have that huge offensive call matrix sheet be visible even if the backside is upside down on the telecast.

It's f***ing idiotic that Patricia could walk into a HC job after running a defense under Bill (you and I could run a defense under BB), but EB has to 'prove himself away from Reid' first

He didn’t call plays….a primary function for a coordinator HC candidate to be good at….if not for such a killer team in KC, he probably should have moved on a few years ago to get himself in position to show he can do this. Patricia did that IIRC (on D).

And I recall that when Patricia was allowed to call plays their D tanked.

I don't think Ravens fans care as much about a preseason win or loss, as we do... Josh saying "2-0" in the locker room made me cringe again. Shades of Bruce Allen "We're winning the offseason". But no matter how many times Josh makes me cringe with his enthusiasm, he's such a breath of fresh air to this suffocating fan base. To paraphrase from Something About Mary "I love that little *******"

I haven't don't Fantasy in ages. I want to, but my wife is about to poop out a baby so I don't know how committed I'll be.
There's best ball where you just draft and nothing else. No add/drops, trades, setting lineup. Definitely not as fun as regular though

Who is Sarah Ellison and why should I give a single shit what she has to say?

She and everyone else raining on the parade can f*** off. Sure it’s just preseason but it’s got to start somewhere. We just endured 25+ years of on-field futility and off-field embarrassment. Our owner was the worst owner in sports. Our stadium is the worst stadium in sports. Seems like every year for the last 5-10 years there was a new controversy or scandal. The name changed — twice. Our best seasons under Snyder were marked by our star safety being murdered and our superstar rookie QB essentially ending his career by tearing his ACL. One playoff win under Snyder’s ownership and yet not a single 1OA pick… that seems impossible to do. We were a laughingstock and it was mostly miserable to be a fan of this team for decades.

So if the players, fanbase, and new owners are puffing out their chest a bit today and are feeling real, genuine optimism and pride for their team for probably the first time since RGIII then everyone else can get f***ed if they don’t like it.
