Brissett is going to be fine as a backup. Had been hearing nothing but good things about him prior to this game

looked like he yanked that and then it just snapped to attention and went right down the middle

not impressed with Martin

lol, now he gets a pick
Had to quote for lol.
Not every toe injury is turf-toe lol

I liked Howell's poise and decision making and timing more than anything else, regardless of the competition level.

My only concern right now is I didn't see many finesse passes. Every one was a bullet. Can he put some air under the ball and drop it in a bucket? If not there are some plays he won't be able to make, and some top DBs are going to jump some routes.
Bolded I'm fine with bullets with this subpar offensive line.
You can tell this is miles ahead of "Boring" Scott Turner's offense
THIS! Feels kinda ridiculous that even with stripped down pre-season play calling that it really looks better.

Also on the OP SEC side EB really needs to not have that huge offensive call matrix sheet be visible even if the backside is upside down on the telecast.

players don't have to talk about a creep owner anymore, and can focus on football. Good coaching and explosive offense. 2-0.

I think I like this feeling.

My personal fantasy is someone mentioned to Slye "Wreck it." before the kick.

Last week, Washington guard Sam Cosmi mocked Baltimore's August dominance. "It's a stupid record," he told NBC Sports Washington.

Cosmi, who celebrated one Commanders touchdown by performing The Griddy in the end zone, declined to talk to reporters in the locker room.

Commanders wide receiver Jahan Dotson reveled in beating the regional rival Ravens, who play 29 miles up the interstate.

"I was sitting in bed watching ESPN all day, and all you could hear about is this streak, the streak," Dotson said. "So I feel like we just had the biggest preseason W in history. It was definitely pretty cool knowing what they had on the line that we could end that."

Only got to see a bit but Howell looks good. Kind of reminds me Heinicke with an NFL arm. He can sling it but it still looks like a catchable ball.

Early return on Forbes look good. Kid seems to have “it.”

I think TH had a lot of spirit and guts but Howell clearly has more NFL talent in just about every department. A lot to say after a few games but seems to be the case.

TH did not have Howell's pocket awareness or ability to read the defense, imo. He had some but SH seems to be a step above already.

Random game notes that has nothing to do with football. Forbes looked high as AF after his tackle for the loss.
Howell wearing his UNC under gear in the post game interview. Hes been on the team 2 years can we get him some Washington gear. Maybe its a lucky shirt.

TH definitely plays with his heart on his sleeve which isn’t a Howell thing, I was more comparing their toughness, ability to extend plays, willingness to take risks, and mobility outside of the pocket.

I think you’re selling TH a bit short on his ability to read defenses. His pocket presence wasn’t great but his college coach said he was the only QB he’s ever coached who could progress through five reads on the same play. And the knock on him wasn’t that he didn’t know where to go with the ball… it was that he didn’t have the arm strength to get it there too frequently.

Howell owns the record book at UNC and was a 1st round pick heading into his final year in college. There’s certainly a lot of talent and raw ability there. Sure would be nice if after 30 years roaming the QB desert we find an oasis in the form of a 5th round pick. I’m still much more concerned about the OL heading into the season than I am Howell.
