I think the Sam Howell era is at an end…
I think Sam may go on to have a solid NFL backup QB career, maybe a few chances to start, but I think his ceiling is bottom tier starter, not franchise QB. He has a lot of tools and clear toughness, but running an NFL offense, making rapid decisions, doesn't seem to be part of his overall toolkit.
I'm not sure they shouldn't be keeping him here as a backup, his contract is cheap and he may still have some trade value if we play it right. He can't demand a trade yet, he's not at that level. Keep him while he's still cheap.
Maye is Howell 2.0
Maye just didnt lose all his weapons on offense his senior year. Same build, same strengths and weaknesses iMO
I think Maye is bigger, stronger, and runs a pro offense better, slightly bigger and more accurate arm. Maye's weakness seems easily correctable - mostly footwork. He looks a lot like Josh Allen to me.
