Understood and maybe the Dallas game is a concern that way if they have nothing to play for. But if the Redskins are able to beat arguably the best team in the NFC, who are playing for the number 1 seed and a much desired week off and coming off a loss just because you put in a competent QB, don’t you want to know that?

Don’t get me wrong, in no way do I expect them to beat the 9ers, or even keep it remotely close frankly, but if they do my evaluation of the overall roster and Bieniemy is going to change a reasonable amount.

But assume they lose Sunday and Dallas has nothing to play for the following week, then yeah Brissett isn’t on my active roster for that game.
You don’t think they’ve seen enough of this roster to fairly evaluate it? One or two potential upset games isn’t changing a lot of minds at this point IMO.

Zero chance they beat SF and I agree we probably won't learn much of anything.

If the 9ers don't hang a 40burger on WFT I'll be surprised.

I think this is the answer right here. Benching SH protects him from taking a beating the last 2 weeks and allows JB to put some full games on film for anyone looking to sign him next season.

Has Howell released any kind of statement? This is all I can find atm:

If the Commanders finished 3rd it seems like a realistic scenario is they could trade up to the #1 slot with the Bears sliding down to #3. The Bears would still get one of the top two QBs if they so wished.

9ers may have peaked a little too early. Ok, may a little wishful thinking on my part, but they are looking a little shaky down the stretch.

Meanwhile look who's flying under the radar. Again. The Los Angeles Rams, on a 2 game winning streak and winners of 5 of their last 6. Don't forget this is a team that flew under the radar a couple of years ago, shocked Tom Brady and Tampa in the playoffs, and went on to win the SB against the Bengals. Not saying they'll win the SB this year, but I see them playing a major spoiler role in the NFC.

I get it. Hence my “receive Ron and his ppl after Sunday” mindset.

It’s the Dallas game I worry about. Period end. SF should/will want to squash us. Thankfully.

Not sure I follow my man.

Skins WILL take a QB under that premise, and then we expect Arizona to NOT take a QB?

That may not make sense.

That said, if it does? Then stay at 3 and take whatever QB is available?

Unless the new regime falls in love with one of them (Williams/Maye/Daniels)

SF feels like those talented Caps teams that beat the shit out of everyone and got bored and complacent by January. I think they can get it back together in time for the playoffs and should still be the favorite in the NFC.

But yeah, I've noticed the Rams and Bucs both playing much better in recent weeks. I don't know if either can beat SF in SF but they might cover the spread. lol

You are not wrong re: the Rams.

They could easily beat someone (including the Niners in week 18, spoiling their #1 seed aspirations), and are dangerous. However, I don’t see them beating multiple teams to make an SB run happen.

On the other side, I DO see the Bills having the chance to go bowling again. I just think it’s their year, like Caps 2018. We will see

I think Howell has been so terrible the last few weeks and the offense so unbelievably much better when Brissett came in that I am questioning a lot.

Sure defenses were playing off with a reasonable lead and had game planned for Howell so maybe Brissett from the start will crash just as hard but I want to see it. If they look a whole lot better against a really good team I might feel differently about a number of offensive parts.

And I’m not concerned about them winning as that defense is so bad no way the offense is going to be able to keep pace with what San Francisco is going to put up.

It will be interesting to see which QB the Bears take at #1. I could see them getting on the Maye hype train - that big arm might make a lot of sense in cold, windy Chicago (where QBs go to die).

So, in my dream scenario - the Cards then take MHJ, allowing Caleb to makes his triumphant return to the DMV.

If Maye and Caleb go 1, 2, I don’t like the idea of Jayden Daniels at 3 (or really at all). I think they could ransom off MHJ, move back a few picks, and still get Fashanu/Alt.

Or say f**k it, and just take MHJ themselves - the consensus best player in the draft. Either guy helps Howell, and you see what he can do with a better cast and coaching staff.

Really good article on why Russell Wilson got benched by Sean Payton. It's deeper than just "he sucks". It talks about how the fit between QB and coach matters a lot, and athletic talent isn't the most important thing, but rather processing the whole offense well is.

No to a WR at 3. Just NO.

QB or OLT.

Simple, really. Don’t f*** it up.
Ja’marr Chase went five and no one would question that pick but yeah, WR seems like the toughest position to project and they have to nail this pick. I think MHJ is different and would be deserving of a top five pick but I’d rather them trade down and collect a few more assets if they’re at 3OA unless there’s a QB there that they have to have.
