Can we just forfeit instead? Howell has looked a bit worn down mentally and physically the last few weeks which is not surprising given how much of the offense he was asked to shoulder and how many hits he took this season so I’m not going to rage against this decision but I’d have rather they started Fromm. What possible good does starting JB do? No offense to JB but why would a team drafting 3OA at this point start a 33 year old journeyman QB? It serves zero purpose other than for Ron to get one last win for himself.

RR is an old fool.
But why????

I’ve been of the mindset that opposing defenses have NOT planned for Brissett at all, and that his coming in cold also leave the defense coming in cold.

So, it will be an interesting exercise to see what JB can do as the known starter.

Regardless, the Niners (and one would also hope, the Cowboys), will need to win and thusly stomp on the DeadSkins.

One WOULD HOPE.

Go and read the draft grades for this past draft and the Lions finish at the bottom of just about everyone's list. Matt Millen is obviously somehow still their GM behind the scenes.
Yeah but … draft grades? Why do we care about draft grades when we have a years worth of actual evidence?

Lions — and their draft — certainly aren’t showing poorly, are they?

Odd stance my man.

So the media’s knee jerk reaction to your draft is what determines whether it was a good draft or not? If so, I for one consider that criteria a steaming pile of shit…

Exactly this. I was thinking you start Fromm to see what you have.

I’m beginning to actually dislike Ron, and that’s sad.

Yeah but having a competent NFL QB likely makes it much easier to evaluate the rest of the offensive roster, which IMO badly needs to be done also. Honestly, how much has Howell dragged them down? The last few weeks has shown a reasonable amount of difference so seeing it from the beginning should be interesting IMO.

Ron should have been fired what he is doing to Sam is not right.
I’m hoping that after the Niner game (which *should* be a beat down, even with JB playing), Harris cleans house w RR, the 2 Marty’s, and any other RR related “intellectual property”.

Let EB have one games HC chops under his belt, and find some other D coach to call the D plays against Dallas.

Tell EB to start Fromm, and any other kid should also play. EB shouldn’t feel any pressure under that premise, and won’t “tarnish” anything. In fact, if they do well, it may actually make him look good??

I get that. But it also leaves you open to… you know …. winning a game?

And this is why RR either needs to be pulled aside and instructed on this, or relieved of his duties…

TBH I'm surprised it took Rowboat Ron this long to throw on the life vest and go to the veteran QB. I expected it before they were eliminated from playoff contention.

The fact that he stuck with Howell and praised him for so long suggests to anyone with rose-colored glasses RR really was trying to develop the kid, which means he might be protecting him from further harm now that the season is lost and Sam is clearly walking wounded. SF and DAL are going to savage WFT the next two weeks so why risk further injury.

If we're considering possible nefarious motives, maybe RR feels like he needs a few good showings from JB at the end of the season so he can blame his young QB for the record during his next job hunt.

I don't know. The first situation makes more sense to me. Or maybe they want to trade Sam and draft a new guy, and Ron was told to bench him.

It's a mystery.

Yeah, I was laughing at them for ****ing up those picks on draft night. But they've since shut me the **** up. Hell, LaPorta alone makes me cry every time I think "Forbes, Martin and that dumb-shit from Arkheehaw."

I really hope RR's not thinking about trying to swindle some team out of another HC stint. For his own sake. (Unless the Giants fire Daboll -- I wouldn't mind RR in our division...)

They're going to screw up, win a game or even two, and end up drafting 11th and select an EDGE. The three QBs that go before them will all become franchise QBs, and Ron will be laughing in retirement about how he screwed the Washington Football Team.
Had to like and quote for the impressive spirit of DOOM...

The centerpiece of Rothman's lawsuit is the bank's December 2018 approval of the franchise's $55 million credit line taken out by Snyder without his minority partners' knowledge or required approval. The bank allowed Snyder to draw $38 million in March 2019 from the credit line "without verifying Snyder had obtained board approval," the lawsuit states.

The bank approved the loan at the same time Snyder was allegedly "self-dealing" by paying himself millions of dollars through the Commanders, including charging $3.5 million to place a team logo on his private jet and $7 million in expenses for "yacht(s), residential properties, personal staff, automobiles, and other personal entertainment and lifetime expenses,"

This is a pretty ballsy suit from Rothman to allege a conspiracy between the bank, Snyder and the NFL. But there’s definitely smoke there and some clear improprieties. There is so much stink surrounding that 2018 loan, and the implications it had on the arbitration and subsequent sale. In fact, per the article, EDVA is still conducting a criminal inquiry into that loan.

It will be interesting to see how far Rothman can push this case. If it survives summary judgment, and gets into discovery, I would imagine the defendants will want to settle this quickly and quietly.

Can you imagine the nightmare for the NFL if Rothman is able to request all the relevant docs, and witnesses (potentially deposing Goodell) regarding the entire process surrounding the sale of the team? Yikes!

Understood and maybe the Dallas game is a concern that way if they have nothing to play for. But if the Redskins are able to beat arguably the best team in the NFC, who are playing for the number 1 seed and a much desired week off and coming off a loss just because you put in a competent QB, don’t you want to know that?

Don’t get me wrong, in no way do I expect them to beat the 9ers, or even keep it remotely close frankly, but if they do my evaluation of the overall roster and Bieniemy is going to change a reasonable amount.

But assume they lose Sunday and Dallas has nothing to play for the following week, then yeah Brissett isn’t on my active roster for that game.
