I just don’t believe ownership is going to decide to deal away Sweat and Young, reportedly against Rivera’s wishes, and then fire him later in the season for not winning enough. Here's what I said:

RR hasn't earned anything beyond the shot he's been given this year in order to perform without DS looking over his shoulder and whispering in his ear.
If the season is lost then there's nothing wrong with giving EB a shot, but I'll be surprised if the ownership group makes that move unless there are some really bad optics and fan unrest manifesting in poor PR and attendance.
2 years ago the team was dead last in the league with 64% attendance vs capacity. Last year it went up to 85%. This year it's 95%. Even before the pandemic they were just under 80%. So there's an upward trend there. The question is whether Harris & Co see that as an obligation to do something, or a reason to stand pat.
Winning became an afterthought the minute they threw in the towel on the season with those trades. And ownership would be sending a very inconsistent message if they canned him now IMO, and I don’t think they would want to be seen that way.
I think they wait until the season is over and then clean house. Then let the new regime move forward with a clean slate and a couple more day 2 picks.
