WaPo game story most damning part:
“Their main plan seemed to be that they wanted to play man [coverage] and then let their D-line do what they do,” Giants wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins said of the Commanders. “They had some success with the sacks and stuff, but playing man in the NFL for an entire game isn’t easy, and we got guys who can make plays. So we started doing that, and I didn’t really notice a counter. They stuck with their plan.
“. . . They play a lot of man, so for us we do a lot of meshes, trying to get some picks and make their defenders pick themselves for our receivers. They were kind of struggling with the meshes [and we] started calling them even more.
If JDR still has a job tomorrow, RR has given up completely and is giving the finger to the new OG and the fans -- maybe not by intent, but certainly in fact.

And…..that’s a wrap.

Let’s lose out. Whatever we need to do, to enable that to happen — that needs to be the plan.

4-13 will get a pretty pretty high draft pick?
4-13 was 3rd worst last year. Commanders are already 7th worst and Chicago, Tennessee and NYG only need one win to be at 4 win aswell. Arizona and New England need two wins to be at 4 which is possible while I dont believe Carolina will get 3 wins or more.

Bears and Giants have the Commanders H2H so will pass if they get one more win the rest of the season. Harder to see New England and Arizona passing Commanders as Commanders won H2H. So Arizona need to go 3-3 and New England 3-4 and Commanders will have to loose out for that to happen.

Commanders have a hard schedule with 4 teams who have 0.700 win percentage (Cowboys*2, Dolphins and 49'ers). The other two are both away against Rams and Jets.

This team has a really bright future. The only thing holding it back is Ron and ESPECIALLY Jdr. We have like 6 games left and all are against legit teams (except the Jets). We may only win one more game this year.

The sooner this season ends, the sooner Harris can clean house and put his own people in. I don't doubt he can succeed, because we've seen it in his past. He takes trash and turns it into gold. This is trash right now. He will clean house, put his people in, and with a high draft pick and a competent FA, build a winning team around Sam Howell.

Fits exactly with their ranking of worst in the league in 4th quarter points surrendered.

JDR makes no adjustments while the opposing OC adjusts his ass off.

JDR should be adjusted out of the building.

Yeah, every time that staff is brought up, my heart throws up in its mouth.
Why?

Back then 90% of the fanbase was on Team Snyder/Allen/RG3 and wanted Mike and Kyle and Lafleur and McVay gone.

Kinda like now w people being medium on EB .. despite EB coming in as an OC and making huge positive scheme changes and week to week and half to half adjustments.

EB is the best X and Os coach Ive seen here since the shanny/mcvay days.

Regardless ... hire a right GM and cut whatever checks the GM says to cut

Loved how Sam would step up in the pocket w pressure.

Seeing where pressure is coming from and making a lot of smart decisions.

His accuracy was off a bit but hes not the most accurate.

Sam is a B to B+ at everything, A or A+ at nothing except toughness.

this has vibes of caps last season with laviolette. Just tanking and going down. Fans wanted Laviolette fired midseason or in season but at the end of the day the Caps just let him walk. So Ron and JDR are going. It's only a matter of time, and doesn't have to happen right away. Season is lost anyway. The hope is after Harris cleans house he brings good people in and a bright young coach. Where is our Carbury for the Commanders?

I love this quote so much. Some obscure wide receiver on what would otherwise be a laughably hapless Giants offense but for the Commies even more laughable haplessness vs the G-men basically saying: "That Washington defensive coordinator is a predictable cement-head, who is too thick to recognize that we knew what his scheme was, found effective ways to counter it, and then he just did nothing but continue to run the same shit that wasn't working for him."

I like what I've read. Also, the fact that he's doing what he's doing with a QB in Jared Goff, who isn't awful, but is JAG. Let's be the team that takes someone else's smart, young guy for a change.

Was that how it was? I don't remember exactly, but my impression from those days was people eventually came to realize or suspect that the Shanahans did NOT have full control over the team and Danny Boy was once again playing his games and meddling in team affairs.

RG3 was getting the diva treatment, there was finger-pointing and resentment regarding his injury, and talk about him and his father trying to get the coaches to change their playbook to protect him more, presumably with the leverage of his relationship with Snyder behind it.

Eventually Shanahan did what nearly every other coach (and some players) did during the Snyder Saga: he gave up and started looking for a way out of the job (without losing the contract money).

^^ thats our fanbase when Shanny was fired. im sure we will see identical language when Ron's contact is not renewed.

Goon - youre a learned dude, you see all the angles .. surprised you dont think we should show Ron respect and let him and his crew finish out the year.

Rons not an X and O guy, Ron picked and was too loyal to his asst HC, especially JDR .. BUT he did inherit a Haskins problem, did everything he could to find a QB and was a respected father figure to our players.

Ron was the unflinching captain through a LOT of off field BS. he did with dignity and respect and humility

Now we have every local radio talking head calling Ron a liar and swarmy
----------------

But thats what WE do. Not Dan this time. We, Us.

We as a collective fan base are stupid undeserving assholes

We = Dan Snyder

hope Josh Harris doesnt bend to the BS noise coming from the DMV

Ron deserves a heartfelt thank you when his time is done here .. and it is done.

i hate the collective cancer this fanbase has become

we are all Dan Snyders

IF the Skins get shellacked on Natty TV to their hated rivals on Thursday, it will stink of a team that has given up. IE: quit on their coach and season.

That cannot be allowed to fester, is I think a very valid point. Regardless of anything else.

I think Ron would agree with that as well. There would almost have to be a change.

That’s not being Dan Snyder my man. That’s just knowing Pro Sports.

Here's what I said:

RR hasn't earned anything beyond the shot he's been given this year in order to perform without DS looking over his shoulder and whispering in his ear.

If the season is lost then there's nothing wrong with giving EB a shot, but I'll be surprised if the ownership group makes that move unless there are some really bad optics and fan unrest manifesting in poor PR and attendance.

2 years ago the team was dead last in the league with 64% attendance vs capacity. Last year it went up to 85%. This year it's 95%. Even before the pandemic they were just under 80%. So there's an upward trend there. The question is whether Harris & Co see that as an obligation to do something, or a reason to stand pat.
