He passed it off to his safety who wasn’t ready. That is SQUARELY on coaching. and the one time he shows blitz earlier in the drive he rushes all of them instead of dropping Davis into coverage. And it was a delayed rush at that. The day he leaves the offense guessing is the day he completely follows someone else’s game plan.

Sam has been making some precise throws to receivers as they slot into zone coverage gaps. This guy has an understanding of defenses that most QBs with his experience level haven't achieved.

14 rushes for 68 yards against a defense that gives up 122 rush yards a game. That’s 4.8 yards a rush. TOP was 30:27 to 29:33 in favor of SEA.

I understand EB likes to pass but when your teams defense sucks running the ball to keep your bad defense off the field can go a long way towards winning close games.

Seattle struggles against the run and EB refuses to run the ball. I feel like the media mentions it in passing but just gives him a pass and the lopsided run pass ratio of plays. I’m starting to think he is way overrated s a play caller.

Howell is a keeper at least…
I think Howell's development has been the most important thing that's happened this season. He is proving that the team doesn't need to keep trying to fill that spot -- they can focus their picks and their vast cap space on fixing the areas that need serious help.
Any coach they bring in should be happy to have a young, cost-controlled QB who's proven he's a genuine starter, but also has enough clay in him to be molded to a system they may bring. He's probably making the inevitable HC opening much more attractive, maybe putting some candidates in play who wouldn't otherwise consider this a desirable gig.
