They had nice wins over Florida, Colorado and NYR, all of which were impressive, but the rest of their recent wins have been against San Jose, Anaheim, Philly, Montreal, NJ, NYI, Columbus and a struggling Vegas team. If they can beat Toronto in both remaining games, then it might be an interesting finish. Mind you, the same can be said in relation to Boston/Florida and Toronto/Florida. Lots of intradivision games.I mean, that's not what consistency means and it's not accurate either.
We're 5-5 in our last ten, 9-1 in the ten before that, 5-5 in the ten before that..
Since January 1st both the Lightning and Leafs are playing at an identical .667 pts%
I don't think they'll catch us, we're due for a run of good play here based on our 'consistent' pattern of alternating between mediocre and excellent. But the Lightning have picked it up notably since the calendar flipped, .539pts% before January 1st, so they shouldn't be taken too lightly.
It's also nearly impossible to predict what Jersey will play like. Some games they look great, but most nights they have obviously struggled given their record. Like most games, this one probably just comes down to goaltending.Strangely, that's usually when they step up (when you think they might want to just mail it in). Who knows what to expect?
I hate 10:30 startsI hate 7:30 starts.
Right now, if Toronto dropped into WC1, they would play the Eastern division leader with the fewer points which at the current time would be the Panthers.
It's possible that both the Rangers and the Hurricanes finish ahead of Florida and Boston. Boston has a pretty difficult schedule to finish the season.I didn't even notice the Rangers had more points than Florida/Boston. Wow.

Florida scores 20 seconds in lol
We will likely play the loser of that game
Hope they kill each other
If Samsanov was so weak that he'd fake an injury to avoid a tight game, chances are overwhelming that he wouldn't be or have chosen to be an NHL goalie. Honestly, this "he's faking" it crap sounds like pure, unadulterated projection; nothing else
We’re missing Marner, Rielly, Jarnkrock, Edmonson.. a win would be welcomed. But I dont expect it to be convincing and dominatingWe need to beat up the Devils and win in convincing fashion. Edmonton was a stellar outing. Carolina was an understandable loss. But let’s get back to business and win the games we should. And flex.
Also if Samsonov was that mentally fragile he wouldn't be the only goalie to actually close out a series for this team in two decades or even bounce back from his horrible start and being waived this year, or being released by the Capitals. Is Sammy the greatest goalie ever? No, but he's a decent goalie and I admire his overall resilience. Many times he could've quit or gave up and yet he's still here winning NHL games in the one of the toughest marketsIf Samsanov was so weak that he'd fake an injury to avoid a tight game, chances are overwhelming that he wouldn't be or have chosen to be an NHL goalie.
