Which is why I wasn't really happy with the extension, I'll be pretty pissed if Sullivan shakes loose from Pittsburgh and we can't get him because of the extension.
There is nothing about his extension will block a move if the organization feels they need to make a move to get over the top.

But way too early to be talking like that. I’m not even sure what people on here want him to do. Schmid gave up three awful soft goals in the first.

Maybe the move is to split Marino and Bahl at this point. I did like Hamilton and Hughes together (outside of the unfortunate play where Hughes was banged on the winner), but I don’t know if that is a permanent answer.

More so that it looks like the Devils are always winning in spite out of Lindy instead of because of him. It's not the end of the world since their window is just opening but it's still something to keep an eye imo.

Luke-Dougie have been dominant in their time together. I said the other day to give it a look. Siegs was also at his best when he had Sevo to move the puck for him. Marino can help do that. Siegs-Marino have been awful in their time together and both have been pretty awful this year but I’d still give it a look.

Luke - Dougie
Siegs - Marino
Bahl - Smith

I don’t hate that

Do you have a brain. What do you expect from the goalies when you spend peanuts on the position
Purdy makes shit money, guess he sucks….

What a garbage take, classic. So Bob doesn’t blame a young goalie for making routine saves because he doesn’t get paid.

The only choice we have other than Schmid right now is to send him to Utica and call up one of Kallgren or Kinkaid.

Kallgren has been terrible at the NHL level with the Leafs and you don’t want him playing unless it’s as a band aid for injury. He’s probably almost as bad as Primeau who we played yesterday. The fact that he hadn’t had to play for terrible Montreal is likely the only thing keeping his numbers superior to his.

And Kinkaid at 34 years old is not NHL caliber anymore and hasn’t been since the last time he played here 5 years ago.

I’m also not convinced Schmid will be an .890% goalie all year (it’s gotta be lower after this game) but even if he were, I’d take a league minimum-ish .890% goalie over the alternative or re-signing you know who for 3 times as much per year to be an .890-something goalie. And this has been my rationale since last year. At least we have cap savings if we still have a bad goalie. I’ll take the cheap bad goalie over the $2.5 million bad goalie.

You are the king of the blame the goalie crowd
I don’t know how anyone can defend Schmid tonight. The seconds goal was a slow trickler that slid flat under his pad. It may be one of the worst goals allowed I’ve seen this year. The first goal was bad well, to the point the former goalie on tv pointed out he was out of position. and the winner on VV was on that trickled in.

You can’t win when your goalies give up three goals like that.

Yup, a much needed break from here is needed for me.

Last time I did that was the beginning of a 13 gm win streak so….

Happy Halloween to all

The goaltending was ass tonight. Like I said, Vanecek's second goal needs to be a saved but I'm not putting it on a guy who was expecting to have his night off. Schmid needs the Mantha goal, the Strome goal and challenge better on the Milano goal. All 3 were laughable.
