Wake up call for this team
Cant take a proud veteran team lightly.
Hughes getting stapled at the end a reminder you can dance around all night but never let your guard down because they will hit you (actually both Hughes come to think of it)
And this goalie tandem does not make us cup contenders.

Which is why I wasn't really happy with the extension, I'll be pretty pissed if Sullivan shakes loose from Pittsburgh and we can't get him because of the extension.
You should go read the Penguins board and see their thoughts on Sullivan... they f***ing hate him for all the same reasons some in here hate Ruff.

it’s both. Structure and judgment on the breakout has been weak, but the goalies fold in any difficult scenario.

You need to be bailed out at least once or twice a game. That’s all this team needs and they can’t get that, which is an issue.

lol This shit again. Yeah it’s been 6 games. No one is saying he’s going to stay this way all year. It’s 6 shit games. That’s worthy of criticism
And again, this is directed to the ones who are making season long judgments on 6 games. Not the ones who know he is struggling but give the benefit of the doubt of it not lasting all season.

There are clearly two different motives in these posts. Idk why I have to describe this but here we are

Too sloppy defensively. Some of that is expected with the changes, but they need goaltending to bail them out of some mistakes. Don’t need them to be perfect, they have the offense to make up, but have to give them a chance.

And the PK is f***ing awful. As good as the PP the PK is bad. Even the first one they killed off they spent two minutes in the zone.

By the end of the third they looked gassed on the back to back and having to try and come back tonight.

Awful loss and should be a wake up call.

The slow start killed them. They emptied the tank in the 2nd and gassed out in the third plus couldn't get one more lucky bounce.

The individual performances will work themselves out, but yeah the PK is concerning and they need to tighten up defensively as a whole.

These first periods are the biggest issue

I feel like every team's fanbase hates their coach to some extent, however good they are. I'm sure some here hated Pat Burns when he was coach (may he rest in peace), same with Lemaire. It is what it is. It's the epitome of "grass is always greener" in the NHL.

This loss really sucked moreso than any other loss in recent memory (not counting being eliminated by the Canes).

I have already ranted about this game.

Now I just feel....empty inside. :(

And tired.

I'm just going to go surf the net, play a Steam game or two, then go to bed and maybe I'll be in a better mood the next day but I doubt it.

Aside from one individual here,

Have a good night everyone (else).

I'm out.

Except Sullivan has had reason to lean into his veteran core because he's won Cups with them, Lindy himself hasn't won a Cup. Completely different situations, he'd lean into guys here way more that weren't pulling their weight. He even did that in Pittsburgh when he first got there.

Idk how you could’ve watched Schmid and not put quite bit of this game on him. Also the only reason the Isles game even went to OT was Schmid sucking.
I'm not saying the goaltending has been good, but there's a much bigger problem and that's a defense that's constantly out of position, unable to control possession, constantly turning the puck over and letting up odd man rushes. If this team was controlling play like they were last season the goaltending would be performing much better than they currently are.

Playing the Sabres is exactly what they need and don’t need. Nice challenge to play a team with a balls to the wall offense but also could get ugly with how we’ve been. That game is going to be 16-15

I mean, this should be a wake up call in the highest degree. They have to come out flying out versus Buffalo. Also really weird how they've started at home this year. That 6 game road trip or whatever it is after Minnesota should help them a ton imo. There's where they got their groove last year.
