Lose 1 game to a cup contender and all of a sudden we're a lottery team again.
No, but it shows we aren’t ourselves a leading contender. Let’s not be hyperbolic. We are good but we are missing something lately. There aren’t 3 on 3 overtimes in playoffs. You don’t survive 7 game series with your goalie going out of the crease on the end line several times in successive games. You dont survive with a bottom half power play.

sucks

Jack and Bratt doesn't mesh well together, don't hit me with their corsi or gf%, Jack without Bratt was producing at 110pt pace

This is moronic. “Who gives a shit if they outscore their opponents by a greater margin together because Jack’s ptzzzzzz look better when he’s away from Bratt”.

Our PP is literally top half… We’ve outplayed 3 contenders in a row… Vanecek has sucked lately and they aren’t finishing as well as they should. f*** off with this bullshit.

The team as a whole has outscore their opponents, Jack and Bratt last 20 games together looks like shit too

f***ing stupid, Toronto didn't earn anything. All of those goals were self-inflicted.

I get putting Timo with Hischier in the second for a look, not putting him back with Jack and Bratt in the 3rd was stupid.

Siegenthaler has been pretty mediocre for some time now, Vitek should sit for a game or two.

That Carolina game 7 type shit.

Tough to lose when Palat gets his face sliced open, comes back, scores and has 3 points and no one else decides to pick up some slack.

I love Jack but that tying goal was the same shit we mock guys like Kane for. Have to defend better than that.

And Meier with an inexcusable penalty late.

A lost game due to some bad mistakes. Got away with it in Arizona. Didn’t tonight.

Oh well. Lindy will have plenty of tape to review. They’ll bounce back.

Edit: That’s as negative as I’ll get in here.

Vanacek’s play is now getting very concerning.

Glad to have Meier and understand he’s adjusting but if we are going to keep it real….he was awful…essentially cost the Devils two goals. Not the kind of home debut we were expecting….that’s for sure.

Severson was outstanding and obviously the third line. Did not like Lindy splitting up the Tatar-Nico-Mercer line….way too cute IMO.

I'm over Vitek right now

Get Schmid in some more games

It'll probably be Blackwood though whenever he's ready

Schmid's mediocre game in Vegas is better than anything Vitek has played in 2 weeks.

I don't think it's worth extrapolating from this one game whether the Devils will make noise in the playoffs. This was a good reminder late in the season that the Devils still have a lot of work to do. Gotta learn how to play smart against other teams' elite players. The difference tonight was Matthews, Marner and Nylander showed up and Hughes, Hischier, and Bratt did not.

welp and there goes Montreal holding on, that stings

ah well, only our 16th regulation loss. Really hard to be mad with the astronomical jump weve made this season
