It's not the scoring, consistency is a bit of a myth in the NHL unless you're McDavid. It's that he's not tilting the ice like he used to. Devils are spending more time defending when Hughes is on the ice lately.

I disagree. We struggle too much to win games. We are winning them more often than not, but it’s last minute or overtime. Tonight is another example of how we aren’t a contender. Crap loss, terrible play, major gaps. Goaltending isn’t great, defense isn’t great. Inconsistent offense.

I get where we are, but you don’t lose games like this when you’re a contender.
