Didn’t think Zacha would be the Bruins worst forward statistically but he was.

I guess Jim’s relatives aren’t texting him “thank you for Zacha” right now.
Let Jim cling to the last link of Lou and Conte’s godawful drafting that destroyed our franchise for a decade

Final preseason stats

Blackwood: .905%

Vanecek: .928%.

Vanecek had the only shutout and we WON EVERY GAME HE PLAYED IN/GOT THE DECISION IN!

I don't think Blackwood got the decision in the Montreal game and he definitely didn't get the decision in this game, but he was 0-2 in the two games he played the entirety of.

Can't remember if Vanecek got the decision in the first Islanders game that he and Schmid split, but he was otherwise 3-0. Pretty sure he got the decision for that Islanders game, so he's 4-0. Daws got the decision in the first preseason game in Montreal that he and Blackwood split.

Daws and Schmid were both 1000%, so maybe we should just start one of them?:sarcasm:

Came in to say that my hatred of the Bruins caused me to miss this game. Blacked out everywhere but locally, wasn’t going to listen to Jack Edwards so went to dinner with my wife.

Daughter went to the game dressed in Devils gear with the intention of meeting #86. I don’t think it happened.

Edit to add that she got this close in warmups:

When Nico is healthy and Haula on the team, I’m not sure what role McLeod would have. Those two ideally would be taking the faceoff and defensive roles late in games. Just cut him.

Brooklyn via NJ, like the Nets
Jack Edwards is so bad as a commentator. We were spoiled w cange
Honestly… I don’t hate him, aside from the atrocious accent (which is a pretty big hurdle, in fairness). It’s not that he hates the other team, he barely acknowledges their existence. He doesn’t seem stupid about the game. But our crew is kind of unique in their respect for opponents.

At least she got to witness a Devils win. :)

Wishful thinking here. I won't even believe that one if I see it.

He still would have been out there killing the 6 on 5 if we had Nico available for the game.

That's the problem with him. He's a good 4th line center, but that's where it ends. He's really not a defensive specialist that you want out there against the best players in the league to defend a one goal lead.

I think it's fair to say that Vitek won the job but who the F knows with Ruff and his thought process at this point?

I guess it was me, I thought they talked about us more than it sounds in here and some of it was high praise.

We're basically placating Blackwood if we start him that game. We're basically forcing to make Blackwood happen.

We did the same thing with Marty in 13-14, but even he didn't start the season opener that year, although he probably would have if it weren't a back to back. They gave him game 2, which was the home opener the very next night.

If Blackwood is as good as the organization really hopes and wants him to be, he can go out there and outplay Vanecek when he does get into games and then he can take the starting position.

I think it'll be Vanecek on opening night. I had a freak out when I saw Blackwood start this game, but after seeing it was a planned split all along, I go back to my original belief from after the Islanders game where Blackwood got blown up, Vanecek will be in there.

Good point

Mcloud also has all that shit looming. Would love to cut bait and let Boqvist play that 4C spot

No - He sucks. He’s a homer and ridiculously downplays the opposition even though they most likely will be kicking the ass of his beloved Bruins. The guys between periods are just as bad, if not worse.

He’s consistently rated the worst PBP guy in the league. Family and friends who are die hard Bruins fans don’t even like him. He’s a joke.

Dude....It's Jim's RELATIVES, not Jim himself who said "Thanks for Zacha".

I don't think Jim was ever a fan of Zacha.
Oh, he defended Pavel “top scorer” Zacha at times in the past

That was more about whining about the Devils because, boo hoo, Boston’s top elite forwards might jack up Zacha’s UFA price. And therefore we really missed out or something and look bad lol.

This was a classic Zacha ghost performance, he did zero offensively while giving the worst defensive performance among forwards. They happened after big games all the time.

Same old Zacha. Even on a new team. I guess he made the top 6 and we were tougher to play against than the Rangers so he spaced out.

I’m experiencing residual frustration from his performance AND HE ISN’T ON OUR TEAM ANYMORE. I need to discuss this with my therapist or get an exorcism or something.
