Blackwood has so many tools. I always find myself thinking maybe he can put something together, but then he gets injured. Or has a random game where he gets torched. And the other problem too is he misses time, then comes back and it takes at least a couple games to show any signs of being decent.

"There's not one reason you should be blaming goaltending"

Like Clockwork, I tell ya.

I knew the excuses would start raining down.

Plus, not blaming Akira "Blackwood" for Goals 2 and 3 (which @Bleedred correctly described Akira as doing an excellent imitation of a statue hoping the puck hits him), is just too much homerism for me.

"Of the 741 best-of-seven NHL playoff series played through 2022, 187 (25%) have resulted in a Game 7 with the home team holding a healthy 109-78 (58%) edge. The team that scores first has a 141-46 (75%) edge, including a 5-1 record in the 2022 postseason."

Fair enough but it's also proof that we shouldn't be clamoring for it, last change is the only thing that's advantageous for a Rangers/Devils in a home ice game 7. Both teams are good on the road + both fanbases will travel with Rags fans probably traveling more.

I don’t think any of the goals on Schmid were bad, but he just looked like a statue on goals 2 and 3. I don’t know how you could expect him to stop the first goal, but you would liked to see him make a save on one of goals 2 or 3. He looked like he was just playing for the puck to hit him.

First goal on Vitek stunk.

I don't think any were back either. Just huge breakdowns on D.

First goal was a spin o rama pass on the stick to Cozens by Jack Quinn, no chance.

Second goal was Tage Thompson who's been doing that to goalies all year.

Third goal was the same thing as the second goal but Jack Quinn had the puck on his stick, another very good young Buffalo forward.

Fourth goal was a slot shot by Tuch. (I've said that was the goal, if any, that Vanecek or Schmid should've had).

Fifth goal was a slot re direct with Tuch being wide open.

Do you want saves? Sure but there's nothing there to be crying about the Sabres goals tonight, they were all amazing plays by them, tip your cap to them.

I refuse to tip my cap to a team that gave up 4 goals to us.

Most nights, we win that game with even AVERAGE goaltending (which he did not get tonight).

Then don't, lol. Buffalo is literally us from last year, if you can't see that then it's not my problem.

First goal was this....Second goal was that....Third goal was this and that...

I don't want to hear it.

Schmid should've been better than that tonight and he wasn't.

And that's all there is to it.

If he gets another shot, I'm sure he'll bounce back with a very good game (hopefully).

Let's get ready for the Sens and perhaps put an "X" in front of the Fans on home ice.

I'm really not worried about the Rangers fans in the building, it's always overblown about how many there actually are. Their shit blue stands out amongst our red. Just like our red stood out more so tonight in Buffalo.

Was surprised to see how many Devils fans actually went to the game, not like Buffalo is a great destination city so I can't imagine a ton traveled up there for it.

It's just obvious, they have the bigger fanbase + fans tied within generations. I think Devils fans will show out in the playoffs but I also expect Rangers fans to be there too. Not to the extent of 2008, but closer to 2012 wouldn't surprise me.

Ugh I still have nightmares over 2008. Kind of way I rather avoid them round 1 and just not have to deal with that scenario

I’m not really worried about their ability to score goals per se. But I am becoming concerned at the how nothing seems to stick in terms of combos. Like I said earlier, I think they almost should try and revert back to Tatar-Hischier-Mercer, then build the rest around that one.
