Still well above expected differential while “playing like crap for awhile”

What we are going through now is not like December or January, folks. Keep playing at this level (without nights off like tonight) and they will win more than lose. Plus, it was literally our toughest two week stretch with little rest.
I’m very much looking forward to the Rags game next Thursday where we will actually be rested. I expect them to skate circles around the RagsI'm not really concerned about the offense. We are giving up too many odd man rushes and allowing trailers to get to high danger spots. We would be okay if we tighten that up. The defense structure isn't too bad when we are set in our zone, it's really only when we are running around chasing after the puck or coming back against the rush. Need to clean that up.
Of all the games to "not show up" for, this was the worst showing by Schmid by far.Every breakdown in the first ended up in the back of the net. Schmid was awful and the 4th goal on Vitek stunk.

He out-sucked the Sabres goaltender tonight so hard, I felt I was watching Mackenzie Blackwood in net.
I know Lindy said in that tweet that it wasn't the Goaltender's fault....except it was.
Even with how "not ready to play" the team was, they still scored 4 goals which on most nights gets them a victory in regulation.
Make. a. Save.
I wouldn't be against it.Maybe Blackwood should get a few games after we clinch so we can give our goalies some rest.
Thoughts??
No…… just………no.Maybe Blackwood should get a few games after we clinch so we can give our goalies some rest.

I'm sure I'm going to be lambasted for daring to blame Akira, and the excuses are going to fly for "Oh well the Devils defenders were puck-watching" or what-have-you.
I don't give a sh-t.
MAKE. A. SAVE.
You are a professional Goaltender trying to solidify your position as Vitek's backup (or even, perhaps, a Starter in the future).
This outing won't do you any favors.
and it matters not whether we play more games in Newark or at MSG. But even if it did, I actually wouldn’t want the pressure of playing games 1 and 2 at home if we fall behind in the series. I’d love to keep home ice for games 3 and 4 in our back pocket, should we fall behind in the series. The home team will actually face more pressure in the first couple of games. Most likely we are playing the Rags anyway in 1st round....... It just seems like it will be that way. I thought that is what people wanted here.... I dont particularly want to play Rags 1st round, but i have made peace with it. Lol. Anyway maybe good energy boost.
Just cause we clinch doesn't mean we clinch home ice, we need to keep winning as many games as possible. Especially if we wanna try to pass Carolina.
The last thing we want is to punt more games going into the playoffs because we needed to experiment with one of the league’s worst players at the position by giving him 60 minutes a night to f*** us.I wouldn't be against it.
Any hopes for the Division title took a big blow tonight.
Once we get the "x" in front of the Devils name, we throw Mackenzie out there to at least (hopefully) increase his value in the league so some other "sucker" will foolishly sign him to big money.
This has mostly been my train of thought with regards to a rangers series. But that being said, if they lose home ice, it might mean they finish like ass down the stretch, which would prolly be more concerning than the actual home ice factor.and it matters not whether we play more games in Newark or at MSG. Home ice doesn't mean shit in a Rangers series for the hundredth time
Home ice or not, we don’t wanna head into the playoffs losing even more games because we stuck a sad sack of shit goalie in our nets for no reason. The worst of the 3 this season to get NHL minutes.Home ice doesn't mean shit in a Rangers series for the hundredth time
Facts don't care about feelings. He's speaking facts.TG always posts shit like that , even when he was covering the Devils. He would always include a small negative tidbit as a backhanded dig on the team. Closet Rags fan .
He is a good reporter but always had small negative little jabs to throw out there where you could tell he has something afpgqinst the Devils. He did admit at one point to be a Rags fan back in his day.
I'd rather a possible game 7 at Prudential than MSG.

Some people have forgotten that Blackwood is the worst player on the entire hockey team. His absence probably helped that. Out of sight, out of mind.
And he’s not been on the ice to suck.
Meh, I'm sure there the split for that is probably close to 50-50 anyway historically in regards to teams winning a game 7.
Teams that have been front running all season go into the playoffs coasting all the time and can pick up their intensity. The trouble comes when you face a club that’s been playing for its life to make the playoffs and who are used to having their backs against the wall. This has mostly been my train of thought with regards to a rangers series.
