Chytil's good though. Team has that, but AV's boy #51 needs his ice time this season. Gotta do a friend a favor, #15 (or whatever number Glass was) is being done a favor by Calgary's coach now.

No in game adjustment yet again, just line jumbling panic.
Was Staal injured or just not used in the last?

Pavelec was pretty good, Zucc was ok, Nash was ok, Miller was ok, Fast was good in his first game, DeAngelo was up and down put shows promise, Shattenkirk is about our only D man who can get a shot through traffic, Zip was up and down.

there's no flow, no structure and really does seem like most are just going through the motions
Av hasn’t done an in game adjustment since he got here.

Bummer. They looked so sharp in the first.
They were fine until the half mistake that cost the Henrique goal.

Then they just couldn’t do anything. It wasn’t bad play so much as it turned into lack of effort. It wasn’t a situation of giving up odd man rushes. It was more of a refusal to do the hard things to win pucks and fight in the offensive zone.

Yup boys, the AV era and it was a good one even his biggest detractors would have to admit, is just about over.

We lose to the Penguins, Ruff is behind the bench for the Islander game....take that to the bank.

Team is playing with NO passion whatsover. We had a great first period tho we didn't get one past Kincaid, you still felt like "we are f***ed". I know I did and most of y'all thought same thing that it was going to come back and haunt us that we didn't score and it did.

Team is playing like a team that knows it's coach is a goner and AV very very likely is. Thing is like alot of you, I'm not all that thrilled about Ruff being the HC but that's exactly why he was brought here by JG as he was pissed off that AV cost us the Ottawa series.

I'm convinced bringing in Ruff was AV's way of telling AV you don't have anymore chances. I've got you your PP QB, I've fixed the backend....get it done. Well AV hasn't and so it's pretty much over for him. Kind of like what occurred in Vancouver, AV had a very nice 5 years but that's about his shelf life and so it's time to go.

Hopefully the boys will play better when Ruff takes over....they probably will. Bottom line...this can't continue. We win vs Pittsburgh...AV gets the Islander game to coach. If he loses the Pens game, it's over. This is team is way way too talented to be 1-5. This is on AV...he needs to go!!.

The players clearly aren't working with the coach. If they're making a change, it has to come sooner rather than later, or they'll just dig themselves further into a hole.

Who's gone first, AV or McAdoo?

The forwards on this team is atrocious. Zuccarello,Kreider,Buchnevich,Hayes have been invisible most games.

AV needs to go, but I think he gets until the end of November.

This team legit may not win another game this month though.

The lack of in game adjustment was blatantly obvious on the PP tonight. Kevin to Mika works when opponents get drawn out of position, leaving space. Devils weren't biting, and stuck collapsing. What do we do? Pass in circles, going nowhere, over and over, before firing off a garbage shot from a bad angle.

What was AV's reason for sending Buch to the fourth line? He lead the team in corsi in this game, and made no noticeable defensive errors. Funny enough, top 3 in corsi today were the KZB line, yet the moron breaks that line up after less than 2 games without a point and banishes Buchnevich to the fourth line. Typical AV. And of course, corsi's not the end all be all, but its not like he was getting battered all game. He was generating offense.

Said this elsewhere but repeating it because it's such a problem and shouldn't be happening at the NHL level:

The issues always reflected in the defensive zone and now they're creeping into the offensive zone, which is what everyone sees, but the issue is really the neutral zone.

AV thinks it doesn't exist. He doesn't coach it, and there's no system for it whatsoever. No zone entries allowed, no zone denials allowed, no disrupting allowed, no passing allowed. On offense, you skate to the line and dump it in (and our chase is often dead before it starts because teams are expecting this now). On defense, you do nothing and just back up until the other team has already gained the zone.

The neutral zone is not a thing. Don't coach it, don't play it, don't bother with it. AV hockey.

He doesn't like corsi. He prefers to be in his own zone.

He sees good possession players as not defending well because he doesn't notice them in their own zone.

This team is way too talented is funny stuff.

This is very noticeable. Other teams gain our zone very easily. There's not much resistance.

This team is not fundamentally sound and hasn't been for some time. Team defense is atrocious, they are so careless with the puck and this has been a consistent problem throughout AV's tenure. I've hated man-to-man defense since it was first implemented in 2013 and it's astounding that this system is still being used.

Aside from the coaching, the players just aren't that good. Kreider will never be the player many thought he would be and should have been traded years ago, Hayes isn't improving, Miller is ok, Nash is done, McD has never regained 2013-14 form. The core of this team is mediocre at best. I know the Rangers have overcome slow starts in years past, but it really feels like this team is destined to miss the playoffs.

It's actually fascinating watching team right now. For pretty much all of AV's tenure you could point to one, two, three players who were stinking it up and at any given time. Right now, the entire roster sucks.
