Locksley - The Whip

It was so awful last night. After cheering for the goal, I just sat down cause the song has no feeling.

If anything other than SNA wins, this is a complete charade by the devils.

I missed the Bon Jovi disaster and SNA went over fine in my section, but the bolded has been the general response to the other songs in the seats around me. Plus a fair amount of booing.

The boos increased for the second goal last night but I'm guessing it is completely drowned out on TV. Very noticeable in the arena though.

If we have a terrible goal song it's nobody's fault but our own.

What a damn shame that would be.

Song 2 sucked anyway. Just loud noise.

Is that you, Hugh? :sarcasm:

No one is stopping fans from cheering. They're choosing not to. If fans aren't celebrating a goal that's their fault now.

That comment sounds exactly what the out-of-touch owners(and Hugh) would say. :help:

Anyway, I really hope that a miracle happens and the owners are just trolling us and end up putting SNA as the new Goal-song going forward.

Otherwise, the atmosphere at the Rock would be forever altered...and not for the better. :(

Plus, you have to consider how it looks ON TV. If it looks bad(which it has), will the owners just say "screw it", and let us look like a third-rate organization so long as "You Suck" isn't chanted? Or will they finally use what passes for Common Sense and not try to fix what never was broken?

I put it on ownership. This was handled poorly. Last time we changed our goal song it didn't receive this response. The way they went about it made it so any song they chose would likely be met with hostility.

If they give us a horrible song they will reap what they sow.

I wish the team would bring it back for the year and say "look, enjoy it for this season. We made a mistake. This song will change after the year. No matter what. you have an offseason to suggest songs, chants to the song, etc... We will play the best songs during the preseason and you can vote. If you attend a preseason game your vote counts double."

This could have been different. The Devils could have created excitement over the change. Goal song options could have been blaring at fan fest, a booth could have been in the concourse with headphones for various options where fans could listen and vote. You could have fans arrive early to game, blast different songs, and practice during warm ups. Put fans in the seat even earlier.

This is all on management. They're making this management vs the fans. They could have done this better.

That's only if you believe this 'contest' isn't rigged and the fans are actually picking these crappy generic songs and vote for anything but SNA (if that doesn't win then clearly this election was as crooked as old-time Chicago/NY politics)

At this point I'd be cool with SNA or Monster Truck's song, really. I kind of agree that the Locksley song is pretty heartless and bleh.

Thank the stars that the awful custom song is gone.

Anyone on here who doesn't vote for SNA has no heart.

Will they blast any goal song beyond recognition? They started doing that after we booed the Bon Jovi song the first time. Then they did it after we "you suck'd" the hell out of SNA.

I don't think Monster Truck's song or The Whip are awful. I just think the Devils should stop blasting the songs to drown out the fans. It's like the Devils don't even want us to participate.

Take off the kiddie gloves and play the song at regular volume. Play an instrumental of the songs while you're at it too. Let the fans bring the noise.

Bring back Hells Bells when they come out for the first period.
Welcome to the Jungle when they come out for the 2nd period.
Seek & Destroy for the 3rd.
And Blur after the winning horn.

Bring back those traditional songs and the goal song change is easier to take IMO.

7NA was clearly the best out of the 3.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

When the fan noise is a chorus of boos after the team scores a goal, that's not exactly what the team wants to hear. Maybe the fans who decide to boo the freaking goal song should just grow up and get over it.

Will my vote even count for this? I find it VERY hard to believe The Whip and Monster Truck beat out anything.

This vote will be as legitimate as Corbin Dallas winning the radio content for the ticket to Fhloston Paradise in The Fifth Element

Or maybe the team gives the paying customers what they want because without those paying customers they are nothing.

Pretty much this. The fans aren't booing because they're bored. They're booing because they're unhappy. Make your paying customers happy.

Orrrrrrr maybe, just maybe, the owners can grow a pair and realize this is a sporting event, not ****ing Disney on Ice.

Every single kid knows at least 10 words way worse than suck after one week in kindergarten.

And when i go to a sporting event, it is not just to root for the team i love, it is also because i want to spent a good time with my buddies or my family. And while the result of the game is the most important thing, the atmosphere in the arena which includes the music also plays a big part in it.
