woo!

I'm happy and glad that this song was played and was a popular song choice.

I hope they keep it!! It sounded awesome on the MSG feed and on that YT clip!

There isn't any other goal song other than RRP2 that can top this.

Easy for the fans to get into!

Funny how many people are coming to this conclusion.

I noticed they finally changed the playlist at the arena that is played during games

It was the same stuff for 3-4 years every game

Nice to hear a ton of classic rock with little to no of the newer garbage that is out today

Really? Thank god. That's so refreshing. Will honestly make it much more enjoyable. It was pretty embarrassing in the past.

I always kinda thought the song Misery Business by Paramore would be a good goal song. Maybe it's because NHL 08 was my jam back in the day..

I personally love it. Not shocked that "you suck" was already incorporated. I wasn't a stickler and joined into the "you suck" chants during RRP2, but I think this almost makes management's point about changing the song. It's becoming more about the "you suck" than the celebration/goal song itself.

Anyway, wouldn't be against them keeping Seven Nation Army.

After the first goal, they played a single note from the bronze bell in ACDC's Hells Bells , but didnt do that for any other goals. Anyone notice this?

And it's still silly, since that proves it's not about the song and the memories but about you suck.

Did you ever really have a doubt?

Frankly, I have more respect for the (few) people who actually publicly admit that it's all about the fact that they want to yell "You Suck".

If they are trying to find a goal song that won't result in the fans chanting "You Suck", then they're going to have to change the song EVERY SINGLE HOME GAME from now 'till the end of time because the Fans are hell-bent(pun intended) to incorporate "You Suck" in it.

You'll never be able to FORCE fans to "behave" at a sporting event(no matter what sport it is). If they want to chant "You suck", they will.

The only other option is to start ejecting fans from the building that do the chant but that alone would result in an unreal PR Nightmare for Devils management...

Hey Guys, I made a little goal song. Its a bit of a rough version sound quality wise (recorded the guitar into the iphone). But I wanted to get a consensus before spending some time recording a better version and submitting it.

By the way, the chant is "hey-oh", though it sort of sounds like "hey-ho." The "lets go devils" crowd recording is not meant to be sung, but I guess it could be. There is just 2 parts. The second part could either be a chance to yell some stuff, or do some long "ohhh" chants that go along with the notes being played.

Your opinions would be appreciated,

Thanks

lol what happens if SNA wins, and then after a few games the Devils realize that everyone is joining in the you suck chant.......would they change the song again? Right after declaring SNA was the winner?

MSG tones down crows noise. Also the team doesn't care if you can hear it on tv. They care about the arena. And it was damn audible at the arena.

You could hear the song loud and clear on TV.
You could hear the crowd sing along loud and clear on TV.
You couldn't hear any "you suck" on TV.

So, the "you sucks" in the arena could not have been nearly as loud as they used to be, because you could always hear it loud and clear in the past. You couldnt last night.

Maybe they'll pick a song that will make it difficult, regardless of what the votes are.

Sarge had the best solution possible though, just play whatever song you like, then GOAL HORN out the "You Suck" every time. I think the goal horn going off several times in the song will sound awesome.

Seriously? It's pretty blatantly obvious that the "You suck" is out of protest at this point.

You weren't there. I was. You're wrong.

Also the team fed the fans crowd noise. The song included crowd noise to drown out the you suck crowd. Which explains your perspective.

At the arena, you could very clearly make out the you suck and it got louder and louder as the game went on.

For example when I watched the replay I barely heard audible Henriiiiik chants. And trust me. They were loud and quite obvious.

You were there, and you're telling me that you could hear it on TV?

That's fascinating.

Go back and reread, an epiphany will dawn upon you.

Go back, reread, "I Watched. The. Replay."

After I get home it's what I do. So yes I can tell you that they tone down crowd noise. You weren't there. You might want to BELIEVE no one was audibly chanting you suck but you're wrong. Just letting you know.

At this point there are either 2 outcome with any song they play...

A) People figure out a way to get "you suck" in the song
B) People boo the song

It would be pretty obvious that the Devils rigged the poll if they pick a song that everyone boo'ed

Oh, I see what's going on here......

I know I'm not the first person on this board to tell you this, but you are the undisputed King of Strawman arguments. Well Done.

But I do have to say, I dont understand why you think Schneider was so poor in goal last night, he had a shutout for god's sake. Is it his positioning you're unhappy with?

Just to defend myself I want to be clear that I never criticized Cory last night and I praised him, like everyone else, for his shutout. So BG is likely confusing me for someone else. I understand the posts were deleted but the above was left in tact so I'm assuming it's ok.

The Islanders play it a lot during their games. I think for when they go on the PP

Though the song is much better than a lot of options out there, I think it makes more sense how the isles use it. RRP2 was a song that got the adrenaline going. While SNA is fun to chant along too, I feel its more like a mid game song.

Immigrant song by Led Zeppelin has a great chorus part, but I'm not sure the structure of the song would work for a goal song.

Plus, some NJ musicians will get a shot at creating a song that's just for the Devils. I despise pretty much everything about the rangers, but their goal song is something did right. I would much rather have RRP2 over SNA. If we're gonna replace it, it better be just as good or better, not a nice B option.
